It could still be a console launch game. Just not PS4.
One game per generation is just too much, be patient guys
"Let's give it" as in?Let's give it another 20 years then. I mean, there will be plenty of other games to play.
Do deadlines make your work easier or more difficult?
They make work much easier.
That being the case, how did Ico miss PlayStation and The Last Guardian seemingly miss PlayStation 3?
They should cancel it like they should've canceled Ico because it took too long.

Youve wanted to make a game for head-mounted displays since as far back as 2002. How would you use virtual reality to advance your mechanics and themes?
I think there are many ways in which games are superior to other forms of entertainment, but more than anything it is the level of immersion that draws my focus. And what can enhance that sense of immersion better than virtual reality?
Speaking in terms of mechanics, I think, rather than playing as a character that can move around freely, it is best suited to a character with movement that is somehow limited. As soon as Ico was finished, I told my boss at the time that Id like to make a game that uses a head-mounted display, so now Id like to research doing that. Also, this may be surprising, but one day Id like to make a game on the theme of zombies. Id like to try making a low-threshold game for hardware that is based around a touchpad. Thats if I can come up with a well-suited idea, of course. There are many other things, too, but theyre secret.
Ueda is so slow at doing things that even when he quits Sony he still works for them...
Imagine if it had been a PS4 launch game.
Imagine.

He wants to make a game people will want to play, so he has to think about what people want to play when making the game. He is making the game he wants. What? No! Make the game you want to make, not the one you hope you think you know "we" want.
Or am I reading this wrong?
This is sarcasm, right? Please be sarcasm. They should cancel it like they should've canceled Ico because it took too long.
Yoshida will not let us down, he'll make sure the game sees the light of day
how many western devs suffer from the artistic vision bullshit
Not only did they miss a generation, they missed the longest console generation ever. I want this game more than anyone but no game is worth this long of a wait.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm happy that TLG has skipped PS3. The console could not do the game justice, it was clear from the trailers.
Not enough. Let's make an (semi) open world shooter!
I will never understand Sony giving these guys money for so many years with so little in return.
According to Wiki, they have been in operation since 1997 and have shipped 2 games, WHAT THE F????
Im of course talking in a business point of view, I love Team ICO's games and im glad they exist but why are they allowed to exist while Studio Liverpool gets shut down?
Please understand?
I don't really care that it's delayed. I'm not funding the game, and it's not like I didn't have other things to play in the meantime. On the other hand I was immediately worried when I saw that the game assumed not just the sub-720p look but also a crummy framerate when they've showed it with a trailer running on actual PS3. I just hope that the game is good once it comes out, whenever that is.No you're not. You're just rationalizing its delay.
Is that seriously what you readGUYS A TWO GENERATION DEV CYCLE IS OK. DON'T BE SO IMPATIENT >:{

What kind of director says shit like, "my creative work is done." You're not done until the game is released. Do you not own the overall product? What is "creative work" when you are a director?
He acts like he was done three years ago and Sony is mysteriously screwing him.
