GameStop sure seems to be pushing the Xbone hard...

Inquiries on whether the PS4 was in stock were met with a negative. In the last GameStop, the employee actually said he had a PS4 but was using it as a Kinect stand for his Xbone because the PS4 has no games, especially sports games. I didn't even bother with him.

CSR down-selling products? Someone needs a chat with his manager.

This irony is better than caviar.
Overthink your messaging, and suddenly they have to pull out the school bake sale tactics to sell your shit.

Seriously. They could type something up at a Staples and print it out for a whole 15 cents

What kind of customer going to gamestop is going to give a shit about the sign not being professional looking? They don't even care that their used games might have cat pee on it or something.
Well at least I don't anyway

What do you mean "downselling"? That CSR is selling the most expensive Kinect stand in the store. What a visionary.

Seriously though, I've overheard one berated for a good 5-10 minutes for slipping a simple, "hmm I don't think X is as good" when asked for title comparisons.

I only see Nintendo Products in there. My fear is gone now. Whew.

If Nintendo touched your tra-la-la's yet then you have a bigger problem on your hands, my friend.

That's good for XB1. Probably some die-hard fans on the inside, or perhaps they were not seeing the demand they expected 'immediately' after launch.

Where was/is all the home-made "Did you know: Wii U..." stuff? Heck, my local Gamestop don't even think Wii U deserves its own overhead logo above its shelf(which was tucked away at the back of the store, and literally around a corner). All the other consoles have huge banners over their isles displaying; Xbox 360, Playstation 4, etc. That was very sad to see.

Don't you have to connect the xbox one to the internet at first in order to update the system so you don't require an internet connection?

GameStop by me had a very similar sign by Xbone display at the front register area, wonder if this was a corporate mandate? Unless you're in New Mexico, OP.

True. My GameStop in my area has Green posted all over the store. Everything is Xbox. They don't have a sign that obnoxious. Though I don't mind. It's just really heavy on the eyes.

I worked for GameStop for two fucking years. Yes, consoles are stored in the bathroom. Yes, they are in close proximity to the toilet. Yes, I'm sure piss and ass particles probably found themselves on merchandise you bought. GameStop is aware of this and no, they do not care. This only happens in stores with limited or no back room. My store was like that. Saganator's post is tame. I've seen muuuuuuch worse with my own two eyes.

Hell, we had DS Lites fall in our toilet a few times, lol

Pretty much saw this exact same set up at mine today. But on top of that, was greeted by an overly anxious employee who insisted on telling every person who came in the store that they have Xbox Ones in stock and most of the games are discounted (by $10...) On top of that, the employees inside made sure I was aware of its availability, even though I had to tell 3 of them that I already owned one.

Yup. There you go, folks.

Thank you. Your story has told me to never buy a portable system at GameStop ever again,

I've seen the same or similar set-up at least two other GameStops. They had a few empty PS4 boxes stacked but nothing near as prominent. Inquiries on whether the PS4 was in stock were met with a negative. Answered your own question, mate. They're pushing what they have in stock.

The handmade sign is clearly the work of a personal fan at the store, though. It's cute, in a borderline-embarrassing way.

Thank god the Gamestop I rarely go to has a warehouse sized room for stock. Makes nasty sense why stock would go in the bathroom now, no room.

Having stock now is bad and is considered "overstocked" and "not selling" now, reading some of these posts. :p

Gamestop is pushing new hardware they want to sell, don't see what's so surprising.

Considering one of the highest selling seasons of the year just finished, yeah, I'd consider remaining stock of 'high demand' items to be overstock.

that shitty little cheap fuckin sign leads me to believe that is a case of a store manager who happens to be a microsoft fanboy and is trying to take matters into his own hands. I can't imagine corporate sanctioned something that shitty.

Think of all the fecal matter that was been absorbed by the Wii U.

I know the Wii U always gets shit from gamers...
Wii U? Wii Poo
I know the Wii U stinks...

At least It doesn't have camera that is always listening

Maybe you never worked in retail. All signage and marketing is updated and dry erase board messages are typically given as well to local stores.

I never worked at GS so it could be what you said too.

Corporate would never ask employees to do this. Only official marketing stuff. Most DMs would tell them to throw that shit out. This is the work of an over zealous employee with too much time on their hands.

I saw this at a couple of Frys and gamestops last week. Several Xbones out on the floor. I guess people are not trying to buy this thing, but I could barely find a PS Vita. I called 3 gamestops and went to 2 different Frys. They didn't even have a 16g or 32g memory card for the Vita. No PS4 in sight. Xbone no bueno?

BTW, this was in Los Angeles

I just traded in a bunch of games, some old some I got on the cheap and traded in for higher value than I paid for. Trying to build up some credit for a second PS4, hoping for some gakai news so I can trade in my PS3 as well.

Anyway while I'm there I see plenty of xbox one advertisement in store as well as a few boxes behind the counter taking up the spot for main merchandise display.

Everyone online though is asking for PS4 and being told that they have none in stock.

This was in the Bronx, NY.
