The fact that you actually keep these forever makes it better than PS+ for me. I'm also glad that they aren't all "new" games. I missed out on Crackdown but I played and enjoyed it because it was free. I had PS+ for 3 months and none of the games were even worth trying, except for Hotline Miami and Gravity Rush. I can't play them anymore until I renew but I won't.
How were the free games for PS+ in the first 6 months?
Ah, okay. When is the next major game show/event? Maybe they'll announce them there?

Shit.

Halo?
CES is very soon. Do video games even have any sort of presence there anymore?
GDC and then Pax East.
How is Sleeping Dogs on the 360 ? Good framerate and image quality ?
Both of these have been free on PS+ for three eternities.
GDC. Totally forgot about that one. That's in February or March?
You're assuming everyone had PS+ then. I didn't at the time so this is pretty good news for me.
March
Weren't the first two games on Plus Wipeout HD and Shatter? Those are about as far from "shit" as you'll get on current consoles :/
It wasn't shit by any measure, but it really picked up a lot of steam after the hacking incident.
If I'm gonna be away from my console 'til March, will I be able to claim the games for free if I put them in my download queue through xbox.com, and then actually turn on my console months later? Thanks.
Before June 2012, the selection was downright awful which by definition made the service pretty rubbish. What drove PS+ then were really the discounts if you didn't have Steam.
Now, PS+ just hands you recent games that have, at worst, mediocre reviews and still generally charge a high price at most retail stores. That's why the service actually looks good these days because the games are generally decent and charge a decent price if you ever wanted to try the game.
MS still over-delivering in value I see.
What does that matter right now? It's the PS+ games the past 6 months that are relevant in any comparison here.
Guardian of Light is fantastic, it's overlooked but I think it's one of the best downloadable games this (last?) gen
wonder if Nintendo will jump on the free games bandwagon
