It doesn't eliminate the need for your PS4, or any other of your systems. Just another option to play some games.

At the end of the video he rates responsiveness as 5 stars (I think) so I'm going with the latter. Who knows for sure though.

As with all the manufacturers It depends on the model. Some of the LG 55 inch sets are quite good in regards to lag with only 35 ms or so.

Oh this is amazing news. Since I no longer have my PS3 I will have some nice PS3 Backlog titles to play on the PS4 and/or the Vita. Even if it's still far away this is great news. Thanks for answering.

That's how it authorises the PS4 'upgrades' though from games going to PS3 to PS4.

That has nothing to do with anything. Just authorizing that you own a game by checking the disc wouldn't require Cell, the PS4 should be perfectly capable of reading PS3 discs even if it can't actually run them (EDIT: oh yeah, that's right, it already does this with PS3 --> PS4 upgrades). Not sure if that's actually going to happen though (although I hope it will - would suck to have to rebuy games you already own on disc if you want to play them on your PS4).

Interesting:

I have some craptacular internet (for some reason my router decided to change nat2 to nat3)

So for even running it on my internet and still be playable is a big plus. Also just came back from my friend's house where i tested it there as well.

At its worse... You can see some compression (i.e. My connection) at my friend's house with proper working internet. It looks exactly like running it off the disc.

I did on my LED set until I changed the settings to "PC" rather than "Game". Works a lot better now!

I seriously doubt that's how it will work. Besides I don't really see the point of that. It would just be streaming the game anyway, and your subscription would be what gives you access to the game. The disc becomes pretty irrelevant. Unless they have some sort of lower tier subscription which only allows you to stream games you already own on disc, but that's pretty unlikely.

What if you sold/broke your PS3? You could keep playing the games you already bought on your PS4.
