Being an actor and being a writer are totally different things.
There are many good writers who are bad actors and vice versa.
Acting with a garbage script will be garbage regardless of their talent.
So Dial of Destiny is of no worth in this discussion.

You thought Killing Eve was "fucking awful" and you thought No Time To Die was too boring to even finish.

Well cant change peoples opinion in ragards to not liking Killing Eve.
But the majority of the world liked it, its awards pull and viewership is a testament to that.

I despised watching No time to die. Maybe the worst Bond movie ever made.
The only decent part was the sequence with Ana de Armas and Daniel Craig.
The villain is awful and Malek's interpretation was terrible. Usually, he does great work, but he dropped a turd in this movie.
Nomi was just there to make a bitch face, while Bond did all the work.
And the story was so disconnected and lame. It was painful to watch.
Compared to something like Casino Royale, No time to die was terrible.

The ideal would be a combination of both - a hot busty lead with a little more engaging story with some bits & locations known from the games. Obviously the pretty female lead part won't work for modern Hollywood.The last one with Alicia Vikander was pretty bad so not really down with this and the ones with Angelina Jolie was crap as well. Tomb Raider doesn't work on the big screen. Plus it's on Amazon

She has written Fleabag, Killing Eve and accordingly did the screenplay for No Time to Die (did not know that) so she has the background.
As others have said she's not cast as anything yet. Doubt she'll be Lara but will most likely place herself in the show somehow. As one does.

Nobody was judging an unmade tv show, I was merely pointing out the writing might not follow the game style (James bond and Indiana jones are among the worst of the recent films in the series. So I would say that provides more reason to be concerned)

and not trying to defend whatever halo is meant to be (or countless other game to movie or series examples that were inspired to make changes to the game and what people love )

Not far off the truth there. A trio of really terrible movies. And they stand out, as each movie before it was generally much better received and far more enjoyable to get through (granted spectre is scraping near the bottom of the barrel, but not below quantum)
Ana nearly saves her movie. But isn’t in it enough, but is still the most memorable character by a mile. In all 3 movies

I've only seen her in Indiana Jones. I was expecting to hate her based on the trailers and the backlash, and was surprised to find out that she was absolutely fine. In fact I'd go as far as to say she did a good job. Also would.

Is this a one-off movie? She is too old for a trilogy or franchise, which makes me think they should have chosen someone younger if this movie ends up successful.

This sounds more like the female version of James Bond to me, but last I checked Lara doesn't bang anybody in the games
She's meant to be a hot female version of Indiana Jones but in the end both the female Indiana Jones and Nathan Drake, Sony's version of male Indiana Jones, ended up being more popular than the OG Indiana Jones
The Uncharted movie made more money than Indiana Jones and the Wokeness of Destiny too

Most of the comments here are deeply embarrassing, but if her being a woman was the issue, then they would need to have issues with Lara Croft as a character too.
I think it just boils down to her "not being hot".
