NEW YORK -- Nets coach Jason Kidd has been fined $50,000 for appearing to intentionally drop a cup of soda on the court late in Wednesday night's loss to the Lakers, the league announced Thursday.

With 8.3 seconds left and his team out of timeouts, Kidd, who was holding a cup of soda, appeared to say "hit me" to point guard Tyshawn Taylor in order to stop the game so the team could draw up a last-second offensive play.

NEW YORK -- J.R. Smith said the New York Knicks are mentally "frustrated" and that he is panicking after they lost their fourth straight game.

The Knicks' 103-96 overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday was the team's sixth in a row at Madison Square Garden.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Kobe Bryant has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, but the Los Angeles Lakers acknowledged he could return Friday in Sacramento if he feels ready after a week of practices.

Los Angeles has no games between Sunday and Friday.

Standings that really matter, the race for the #1 pick.

Player rank:

1. Jabari Parker
2. Joel Embiid
3. Andrew Wiggins

Team rank:

1. Jazz
2. Bucks
3. Nuggets (fuck the Knicks)

Jazz winning what really matters.

I like watching the Knicks lose, but I don't want Denver to get a top pick in this draft. I'm so torn.

But I already gave the East an honorable mention:

How about that Bobcats DRTG then.

Remember when I said that if the Bobcats had bigs (not Mullens) then things would change drastically?

But their ORtg is 29/30.

And last year Charlotte was 7-10 through their first 17 games. Hell, they were 7-5 at one point. Then they lost 18 in a row :3

But I didn't say ORTG. :3

That's unchanged. :3

Also, Charlotte had only one convincing win all the way up til mid December. They were winning games with Kemba late-game hax and shit like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEcRav8NI3I

I'm pretty sure I was getting pissed off at the idea of us winning too many games even then. I was right too. Fortunately, we didn't draft Beknick or Loel and got the guy we wanted all along anyways.

Cody Zeller has been pretty terrible though, DY.

All rookies have been terrible.

He's thinking waaaay too much, but honestly he should probably be starting in place of McBob. (Biz should be starting over both imo) He'll be fine but the whole team is largely unaccustomed to working with any bigs on the offensive end. They've never played with any real post players outside of Boris Diaw if you think about it.

Redick out basically 2 months

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...s-angeles-clippers-miss-6-8-weeks-hand-injury

Clippers guard J.J. Redick suffered a fracture in the small bone of his right hand and a tear of his right ulnar collateral ligament and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, the team announced Sunday.

Redick suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Clippers 104-98 win over Sacramento on Friday,

Redick will be re-evaluated on Monday by hand specialist Dr. Steve Shin to determine further course of treatment.

Sense I get is even with JJ Redick going down for 6-8 weeks, Clips unlikely to sign Lamar Odom before long road trip ends in mid-December

Damn, Minnesota is going througha rough schedule patch right now. They just went through:

Life in the West is hard. But the really frustrating thing is blowing games against garbage teams like Washington and Cleveland.

We just have to stop the bleeding that happens when we play bench guys. Mbah a Moute helps a lot and Budinger is due back soon, so I think we'll make it.

I don't even understand the lakers schedule.

This is like the 2nd time in 3 weeks where the Lakers had 4 or 5 days off between games |:

Portland just finished a 10 games in 16 nights stint and haven't played any consecutive home games in that span, and then all of the sudden they have a 3-day break. They won't play a consecutive home game until this week. NBA scheduling is really bizarre.

So sad that the Warriors are on the outside looking in right now. But it's been a tough schedule (outside of playing Utah 3 times).

They really do need to develop some type of half court offense that doesn't involve David Lee trying to post up someone. It hasn't worked so far this season.

The way I see it, having Harrison Barnes post up against a smaller man, or taking a bigger man off the dribble is the better solution.

Whene everyone was there and healthy they looked better. But Then curry went down. Now Iggy. Going to be a case of them needing to get time together on the court this season.
