i think implementing a visual scaling system like in falcon 4.0/BMS which increases the side of the model based on how distant they are to compensate for the low resolution of a computer/tv screen vs actual human vision in conjunction with more aggressive pilot AI could make for much more intimate dogfights without the need to resort to cinematic pseudo-rail shooter mechanics for every encounter. it makes every duel essentially the same and i'd really prefer if that thing didn't come back in any form.
