The best case scenario for this is, a game called ''New Leaf Touch'' a port of the 3DS game that controls like phantom hourglass on the DS.

A port can't ever be a best case scenario.
Hopefully it's something new made from the ground up to match mobile gaming.

Very low, but I'd expect within 2-4 weeks. They will want to hype it, but they know mobile users have a short attention span.
Maybe...who knows. If they do have gacha element, most probably will be different type of furnitures / items you can place in your house.

''match mobile gaming'' sounds bad to me.
Not all phone games are bad, and I'd rather have something that's built to be played on smartphone rather than some port of something I've already played that wasn't even built with touch only controls from the beginning.

Did we already know it was going to be a mobile game instead of a Switch game? Disappointing out the gate for me but I guess I didn't pay attention to a previous announcement.
They said they were making an ac for mobile ages ago. They also have never said what kind of ac game it will be. Just cause there's a mobile game doesn't mean there won't be a switch game.

I was thinking about how the Nintendo Switch app looks so empty with just Splatoon 2 last night, and was wondering what else could go here - and then it hit me that AC would be a really good opportunity. Granted, I don't really know how apps work and if something like this is feasible, but having the AC app work with the Switch app. Being able to farm fruits, bells, items, etc. in the app, then have them delivered to your town would be really awesome.
It's a gacha game, so it's fun for about a week, then you realize that you have to either start paying to get good rolls or grind forever. It's about as good as a game with that type of business model can be, I'll give it that.

What? I haven't invested any money into the game and I got pretty much every unit I wanted to far. And there isn't much grinding to do, leveling a character to max level takes less than 30 minutes.

Well, of course it won't be the real thing. They want the fans to buy the next game on Switch (most likely).
As long as it's a fun little game to play while waiting for the Switch version, I don't mind it to be honest.

Yeah, it starts at 11pm EST/8pm PST. Kinda getting hyped. Hope (but doubt) they'll release the app right afterwards.

Fire emblem heroes released about 2 weeks after it was shown in the direct in janurary. I can see it releasing sometime November.
I'd like to see some AR where you can see your full house in 3D as some miniature thing on top of your table and you can move the furniture around, etc... Please!

lol I just did the same thing, no idea how I missed that back when the update came out. Only I am more excited that apparently the desert island game from amiibo Festival was in the update as well. It was the only part of that game that looked interesting to me but I never got to try it.
On topic, I have absolutely no idea what the mobile game is going to be. I do hope it has a multiplayer aspect of some kind.

Actually animal crossing is probably one of the very best titles Nintendo could release on smart devices. Who knows, could be amazballs or whatev the kids say these days.
I'd like options to be mean to certain animals I don't dig though. Looking at you, Benedict... I'm fine with the consequences of my actions so long as my enemies show outrage... well... it's Nintendo so maybe chafing discomfort, when I surround their house with piles of trash. Hit them with my net or hopefully this time we dig a hole and push them in it. Promptly burying the evidence... Mwahahahaha!!!

Very excited to see where this goes! Animal Crossing on Mobile has the potential to be a full-fledged experience. Hoping the delay on the game means Nintendo had the chance to really polish and direct the final experience.
