Eat shit Marvel. Trailer obviously has 100% finished effects. You just don't want to treat the fans for some probably stupid reason (It'd take away from Thor's hype!!!11)
He's in there creating magical platforms for Star-Lord, and he's in there standing with Wong and Bruce Banner.

Obviously the Russos have a different style than Whedon but I wouldn't expect the movie to be really dark. There will be jokes and moments of levity, hopefully the Russos strike a better balance than Whedon did in Age of Ultron where he went a bit too far, but I don't want it to be boring dark destruction porn like some of Snyder's films. The tone of the first Avengers movie was perfect in my opinion.

At the very end. He uses the gauntlet to crush a moon in the sky, and sends the debris flying.
What? It was at the end. The planet behind Thanos begins crumbling and then he throws the debris.

It's the last scene. We just can't see the planet because it's on the other half of the screen.
You can see him pulling it in the last frame and then some meteor looking things coming down, I assume the actual moon/planet is in the corner that's cut off.
The moon was on the other side of the screen.

They are treating the fans. It's fucking ComicCon. There is big business in these conventions, not to mention the focused media attention it creates.
I mean, you absolutely can help it...By not writing the scene to be that way. I'm not saying they can't do it, I just hope that they don't. Chuckling at an unintentionally funny joke woild take me out of an extremely tense scene with real stakes. Guess we will find out soon!

Probably the same trailer. You have to remember the folks at the D23 conference only saw this the one time and had to describe off of memory alone. Whereas we can replay this nonstop and clearly see that Thanos isn't "destroying planets", but simply hurling some debris at the Avengers. Still pretty awesome IMO.
Also, good lord you guys are already driving this potato meme into the damn ground sheesh lol

That doesn't invalidate the strategy. DC needs to get people hyped with their franchise with Wonder Woman doing do well right now. Marvel can afford to hold stuff back because everyone knows their movies are going to be entertaining.

If they really wanted to release some official footage they don't have to show the whole thing. Cut out the start with the Guardians and Thor to avoid spoilers there and maybe the footage of Black Panther and Bucky.
For some reason I can easily see most of this footage barely coming from the first half of the movie.

I don't get your point. Releasing the trailer would generate a lot more hype, than playing it once for a few people only. You said it yourself. DC released the trailer to generate hype. Why can't Marvel?

It's obviosuly all in the cosplay and meeting the stars of their favorite movies and shows.
Basically. I mean people go to concerts after all even though they can listen to the songs they sing anytime. It's the experience of being in person, not the 'exclusivity' of it.

Yea this movie is going to get real weird I think. Lots of flashbacks probably, fast stuff, but substantial flashbacks.

Nah, that's not even a spoiler. If anything it's marketing. "Come See Ragnarok to see how Thor gets here". It's intriguing to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why it was included in the first place.
