Borderlands 2 Teaser [Update 2: First Screenshots - New Class?]

Hopefully this one has a bit more variety in its quests and overworld graphics.

I liked the first one but the lack of the colors green and blue and the ever-so-same quests really made it a chore to play through.

Co-Op was nice though.

This was covered alittle big by the new GI, and their website. There is going to be alot of new types of areas, in this teaser alone you see snowy mountians, there are also supposed to be jungles, deserts, grassy plain type areas, to name a few.

At this point I want to see two things, the other 3 characters and their roles, and what they are doing about the lack of big guns in the first game. All we got in BL1 was rocket launchers, I want to see more, Mini-guns, Laser Cannons, Anti-Material rifles, more BFGs in general. I have faith that Gearbox will do good on this though, the first one had some rough edges sure, but the game was still a hell of alot of fun so I'm looking forward to it.

That sounds promising :)

Lack of big guns?

In my first (and so far only) playthrough I got more big guns than I could count (or carry). Rocket launchers, heavy machine guns, everything. I could only complain about the absolute MASS of big guns I collected on my playthrough.

Looks pretty sweet to me! If that's in engine with some bullshit AA (rendered frame by frame or on a high end PC with some compositing) it looks fantastic.

Even thought I didn't really love the original's style all that much, I'm loving it here, looks a lot more detailed.

They are already addressing the issues that I had with the first game: now there seems to be proper water, proper snow, more greens, more colors.

I like what I see.

Even though the first game had its flaws, I enjoyed it tremendously. Enough to grind out a platinum trophy on the PS3 and then spend plenty an hour playing the PC version bought from Steam during a sale.

Hype hype.

Looks awesome. I loved the first one, I would love them to have a proper inventory and storage system so I can keep all the loot I pick up.

omgomgomgomg hype. I wasn't expecting an announcement until E3 2012. I hope the PC version is better this time because I'd prefer to play it on that. I played on console for the first one and it was an excellent experience. PC should be better. Steamworks please.

Looks good. If the gunplay is better than the first one I'll bite. I might rent the first again. I didn't give it much of a chance.

BL gave countless hours of entertainment on the 360. The DLC was some of the best ever made this generation. Playing all the DLC with friends and laughing out loud, getting sick guns dropping and fighting some pretty huge bosses, could a man-child ask for anything more?

....besides asking for BL2 to be released directly into my veins, asap.

Maybe this time you won't have to go into the .ini to make it so that scrolling up and down isn't bound to the page up/page down buttons. Not to mention stuff like FOV, vsync, mouse smoothing, etc. Gearbox kept hyping up the PC version beforehand too.

sad that Borderlands 2 is the official title.

BorderWorlds really hyped me for some fat advancements. The new additions to the game are certainly welcomed, but perhaps I expected too much to be added.
Look at it this way, Borderlands 2 will be a great improvement while still being set on Pandora, when next gen hits the inevitable sequel might be fictional borderworlds complete with inter galactic loot quest, space pirates ect

Borderlands 2 will continue to specialise in online co-op

Borderlands 2 was revealed earlier this month and is out in force at Gamescom this week.

The co-op looting action and distinctive visuals of Borderlands struck a chord with gamers, making it one of the breakout hits of 2009.

Will Gearbox change its multiplayer focus to be more like the ever-popular Battlefield or Modern Warfare for the sequel?

"We're more about the co-operative side whereas those guys are more about the competitive side," Borderlands 2 Concept Designer Scott Kester told NowGamer. "We have the co-op and the loot and the split-screen."

On whether Borderlands 2 would feature a traditional detahmatch mode Kester added: "It's something that we're still thinking about and we're not talking about any aspects of it yet. We said look, we've already smashed two genres together to make Borderlands so... it's something we're not talking about yet!"

That looks a lot better than the first game, especially artistically.
Definitely!

Everything just seems to "pop" even more than it did in the original. I love the art direction here.

2012's GOTY contender. Calling it now.
Borderlands was nearly my GOTY choice for 2009. But yeah, I definitely expect Borderlands 2 to put up an even bigger fight for GOTY in 2012.

Can't wait for this game, but I don't care for the guy's stubby leg design.

The night shot sure is beautiful though.

Ok, they sold me.
I was going to wait for bargain bin even though I loved the first game.

Looks really nice, glad they went to town with the artstyle.
