so a game getting canned means ppl losing jobs? lots of games get canned...and ppl don't lose their jobs.
because i seem to read two different subjects on the topic "Turok 2 canned" AND "layoffs".
where do i even say that layoffs are good? nowhere...
now turok 2 being canned? always a good thing, turok's were fun on the n64. ps2 and next-gen turoks were SHIT.

Which is exactly what's wrong with this industry. You're not succesful unless you make a AAA game that sells millions of copies. Sure, I'm oversimplifying the matter, but Turok, while not an amazing game, was still very solid and sold more than a million copies. Yet, the sequel is canned and people are getting laid off.

A lot of mediocre movies do well and the same goes for books and music albums. The industry is too blockbuster-loaded. Unless you can set the charts on fire and sell millions of copies, your development house is out of a job. It's truly sad. Turok was a great game and deserved a sequel.

Well they are kinda being douchie about it. I have no love for the game myself but that doesn't mean I wish unemployment upon its makers. Times are damn tough for all.

Not a big fan of the latest Turok title, but I don't want to see any dev house forced to lay off staff, of course. Hope bish is ok. If not, prepare for mass retaliatory bannings. :eek:

Turok was Propaganda first game, and it wasn't a bad game. You can't expect every new studio to produce AAA titles from the get-go. Turok had a lot of problems, but also a lot of potential.

I started playing Turok and it's not a bad game, quite fun actually.

Much better than that shitty demo they put up :)
