This is problematic. A lot of discussion is focused on the ads themselves but the real problem is the signal boosting and viral spread of these messages in specifically targeted groups.

Looks like Facebook wants to minimize the effect by focusing on the number of ads and advertiser accounts (numbers in the hundreds) and ignoring the dissemination strategy (numbers in the millions.)
