Seriously though it makes sense
The blue states have the vast majority of the economic power in this country
Might as well use it to force other states to stop being so backwards

These bans are political theater. Intended to send a toothless message of disapproval rather than effect trade or anything of real economic value.

The only thing it's going to do is galvanize people into their positions.

How is that different from someone who can afford to eat the cost of the trip and achieves the same?

Because one is a state sponsored trip, using work time and paid for by the state. The other would be an extracurricular activity you pursue on your own dime.

For example, you can't sue the state because someone went and got a masters degree outside of work and you didn't.

I have banned myself from visiting those states plus more.
Wise choice, reading modern political news makes me miss JFK and what a great opportunity there was when he was president. Now it's all corrupted to the very core..

So does this mean that USC and UCLA won't be able to play games at Texas, etc?

USC should not be affected because it's private. UCLA (and Cal) presumably could not. Also if the final four were held in any of those states, or if they had a neutral site game at Jerryworld (like Michigan and Florida do) it would present an issue.

This will just hurt the aging infrastructure more.

Many things like large turbines and valves need refurbishment and/or replacement. From experience a lot of those companies are in states like Texas and Tennessee.

If a state agent can;t go to inspect something like a new runner for a turbine generator then the contract can't go to that company, and there is not a lot of equivalent competition here in the states.

Final Four will be in San Antonio soon (2 years from now?) lol

Good. While naysayers might say that this doesn't "do" anything, it does in fact put pressure on states that are still actively supporting xenophobia and bigotry.

This is based on state-funded travel so I see absolutely no problem with it. People need to take a stand against things that are factually wrong.

Please...Please California. You are not going far enough. Please ban all folks from your state to coming to Texas. We are tired of you. You have ruined a great city (Austin).

California is a beautiful state..Stay there.

And this is just pure nonsense.

California isn't going anywhere. Same when Texas wanted to succeed.

Its just a bunch of B.S.
Lol.

Private unis still receive public funds

If California is the only one doing this, it mostly just fucks over California.

If they manage to start a trend among left-leaning states? Then you've got a stew going.

Not really. CA economy is huge.

It's not going to be hurt by ignoring a handful of states.

Then you need to get your head out of your ass and realize one event does not mean the end of everything.

Another liberal justice will die or retire before conservative leadership leaves the white house. If that happens, or union will fall into disrepair. You are correct that it's unlikely a single event would do it, but many single events have happened already.

I don't see an end where America survives
