Call of Duty: WWII Headquarters trailer (MP social space)

GameInformer has shared a trailer for COD: WWII's Destiny tower like, social space where you can hangout with 47 other players.

You can do things like:

-Compete with other players, real-time, in target practice with an in-game leaderboard
-Have 1V1 matches in a small, tight, arena directly in view of every other player
-Open loot boxes in game, which, can possibly give other players rewards
-Participate in practice drills that have some players taking control of fighting planes

And more!

Getting exposed in front of other players sounds amazingly hilarious.

Yeah! You won't catch me trying to 1v1 anyone! My COD skills aren't what they used to be!

That's really damn cool. They should turn it into MMOFPS with 3 players strike and 6 players raid!

In GI's coverage of the game, the devs mentioned wanting to do events and change the space throughout the game's lifespan. I can imagine that we'll get some creative stuff!

That's actually really interesting.

Way more interesting than any social space Bungie has ever put out.

This is really cool, Sledgehammer is putting in some goddamn work here.

Still want to see some direct-feed SP footage :(

I'll admit, i thought the idea of a social space in a COD game was insanely dumb... but after reading/seeing this, it actually does have potential and I'm interested in seeing more.

EDIT: And actually, why is it this sounds better than what we have in Destiny? That's actually pretty great (and disappointing, being that I'm a massive destiny fanboy)

Oh man, this is where you're gonna get your manhood chopped off by a kid that challenges you to a 1v1 whose balls haven't even dropped yet.

Good times ahead.

Wow!

Way better than Bungies lifeless "social space" husk that it trots around in Destiny 2.

Bungie can probably learn a few things from Sledgehammer.

This is really amazing, I hope they are really pushing this feature. This is a pretty huge new feature in COD MP. The map looks much bigger than Destiny social hub and there's a lot of cool activities. Considering on getting this, but season pass really kills it for me. Free map update always keeps me coming back, so it's a tough choice to choose between Battlefront 2 and this.

Wow cooler customization than I expected.
Definitely going to go for that classic pilot look.

Space looks awesome though, opposite of Destiny's.

Not a big CoD guy, but that looks really cool.

As a huge Destiny fan, I wish Bungie would've done some of these things for the Farm in D2. Hopefully Sledgehammer making this kind of social space more standard in mainstream FPS games will push some further innovation in other games.

Wow that public 1v1 arena. Kids challenging to a 1v1 just got a whole lot more interesting.
I'll be honest when I heard about this feature I had my doubts but this looks great. After the insult that was Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered's handling of mutliplayer they're making it hard to not want this.

Way better than I had hoped.

The fact that there more going on with player activities makes it that much more attractive as a hangout.

Yup, I'm hoping Destiny can learn as well if this does well.

Running into and around a laggy soccer ball is really archaic compared to some of the stuff COD is doing.

This seems incredibly smart, still going to wait on reviews / impressions before I commit to grabbing this, mostly concerned about the multiplayer, I've had a great time with CoD campaigns pretty much universally throughout the series, but this seems like a great way to capitalize on an inevitably massive playerbase, players tend to be incredibly social in co-op modes for these games in my experience, there could be some really great times to be had here. Obviously there's some obscene shit here and there, but here's hoping this is a successful addition.

Why do you guys all feel like the social space in Destiny needs all this stuff? The purpose of the tower and farm are the same as towns in most other RPGs. You're there to buy gear, pick up quests, and turn in quests. It being a shared space is just an added perk (like what PoE does).

Take into account that the rest of the online experience for CoD is just the Crucible and then whatever zombies equates to.

Even though Advanced Warfare had its fair share of issues you can tell that Sledgehammer at least made a solid effort. I'm not surprised we're seeing that same effort here.

COD Cycle in full swing. People already forgetting AW.

Not me. I'm fully sceptical but over this.

All these positive impressions, well we will see how the full game plays in the wild and not on a LAN.

The there's the SBMM, and then the fact that only a fraction of the final game content will be there at launch, and also how bad performance was in BO3 after it was filled with crap.

Let's just see how much of the good launch game remains in 12 months.

I suspect not much.

Can't watch, at work. But, there are vehicles in multiplayer? Are they just killstreaks?

Only vehicle is the tank, and that's just an escort mission type thing in the war mode.

Planes are a killstreak but no ground based vehicles.

This actually looks pretty good. YouTuber impression of the game has also been pretty good. Looking forward to this, I skipped out on Infinite Warefare.

It's going to be nice to have the split COD community come back home, so to speak. I think Sledgehammer really knocked it out of the park with the MP in this game. Here's hoping upping the tick rate to 60 makes for a good online experience, they had some real issues with their netcode in AW.

I'm playing a lot of MWR right now, and I still think that COD at its best is the best FPS experience on consoles. Looking forward to playing the beta.
