capcom japan can finally unveil their post launch content roadmap
Nah that's TGS!

Do we know which side of the company pushed to release SF5 as a "games as a service" kind of thing? Because it should be obvious that this sort of thing only works when you have a constant output of new content, especially when you released a barebones base release.
You can see this very nicely with PC ports (although that's actually one thing Capcom does well, talking about other companies here)
Even resolution options seem to be a mystery to them
What could they even show? RE7 I guess?
in Theory, RE7, DR4, DMC, and wishful thinking Onimusha
I'd say that's all wishful thinking. Capcom doesn't have the money for that

Onimusha could have been their chance to jump on the Dark Souls train but Koei beat them to that.
Based Koei Tecmo
A new mainline RE is not wishful thinking. That's all but guaranteed.
Communication, patch notes, release scheduling - they're repeatedly having to get dragged kicking and screaming into what Western consumers expect as a baseline from game companies.
They do if a console manufacturer backs them! Get ready for all your fave franchises being locked to different systems!
That aside, Im a bit confused on SFV dlc. Do you need a season pass for the new characters or just for extras?
Capcom Vs. Capcom
Lol!
Their primary sales markets for this title are in the western ones.Well, not being of the western market, that's expected
If you get the SP, you get all 6 characters and a premium costume for each.
Otherwise you can buy a character for 100K in in game fight money, but the costume requires actual cash still, well it will when they finally get the store up
Capcom is become 90s Sega.
Oh Capcom what have you become.
Sure hope e3 is good for them.
Everyone knows about DMC5 and RE:Whatever.Oh, I think you'll be pleased with something from Capcom at E3. Maybe.
Is 100k easy to obtain? If not, that is pretty gross. A game like SFV should follow the DLC model of Halo 5 or Splatoon.

Unless Capcom has another fighting game in the works, I don't care.

Why do people keep thinking Onimusha with a Souls-style system is a good idea? It's not. Onimusha is a fun, flashy, "main character is stronger and better than everybody else" game and hopefully it stays that way.I'd say that's all wishful thinking. Capcom doesn't have the money for that

So it sounds like the 1-a-month roadmap thing was Capcom USA's idea, and Capcom Japan resisted it? And that there was a feeling from the get-go that it was biting off more than they could chew?
I'm confused, I'm assuming capcom JP branch is ultimately responsible for developing the content and dictating what comes out in each patch, why was capcom USA able to dictate the release schedule in the first place? Why did no one from the JP branch immediately come out and set things straight and let things ride as the were for as long as they did? Something ain't adding up.
No.
Definitely curious what the situation with RE7 is though.
But yeah Capcom is pretty much done in the AAA console space unless something drastic changes. Most of their money is in MonHun on handhelds now I guess.
I'm honestly curious how many Capcom games someone who shouts stuff like this has played over the last 5...or 10 years.Capcom have to make money somehow, shitting out a half-baked SF game was the best way to make a quick buck in the West.
As a company Capcom have been in disarray for a long time, soon they will go the way of Konami. Almost all their talent has left and they can't really afford to make many games after they wasted the last 10 years.
