Determine their support off a overpriced port of a 25 year old game and were reported for asking Nintendo to strengthen the Switch....
What?
What?
A 3DS Super Street Fighter 4 upport with Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. /s
But apart from that I would expect some form of Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and maybe an original IP like Zack & Wiki.
Does this ever work?
Test game A:
Success.
Follow up game:
Test game B:
Success.
Follow-up game:
So, what will the lame USF2 follow-up be?
Street Fighter V
sorry
Tbf Konami actually did something right for once with bomberman and it paid off, just hope the game will open their eyes"Also the development of their current I.P and new I.P means they have even less time to bring back old titles."
This is the line that gets to me the most actually. The reason why they now have old IP and current/new IP is because they themselves let popular IP, i.e. ones that people like us ask them for to this day like Mega Man, Final Fight, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Dino Crisis, Onimusha etc., become inactive and as such "old". This is why Resident Evil and Street Fighter (despite its long abscence) are still relevant even as "old" IP (or why Nintendo managed to keep Mario and Zelda relevant all these years).
If they had kept up a better mix of familiar and new IP throughout the years instead of continuously pumping out RE games or things like Lost Planet and Dead Rising that many people burned out on (or MH which continues to underperform in the West due to it being tied to handhelds), then we wouldn't be speaking in these terms of "old" and "new" for the most part in other words.
If they truly wanted to test the viability of Switch, they should have released a title that fits with (oldschool and new) Nintendo consumers of all ages. A Mega Man of Ghouls 'n Ghosts reboot or sequel, or even a MH game, would have served that purpose far better than yet another "Darkstalkers test" in the form of a re-release of an old done to death game like SFII, especially a version with a divisive at best updated art style. I love SFII to death but even I am not really interested in picking up this version because of how Udon's art permeates it (in the menus and such even if you choose the old sprite art in the options) and the overall lacklustre package.
If they want Switch owners and Nintendo fans to embrace them once more, they have to give something back by putting some actual effort into the game they use as a test case, not choose the cheapest and easiest way out and expect tons of support and sales in return. I never thought I'd say this but Konami really approached this better than Capcom did so far with Super Bomberman R.

And?
Right? Good luck with that Capcom. Pulling a EA on us with this bs.Hahahahaha!
Let's overcharge 40$ for a 8 years old game that we sold for 15$ back then and we'll evaluate based on this.
28 if you are a (free) premium member.wait, only 30 in France?!
Sony has that game on lock-down for consoles. And honestly, I'd take SFV on Switch with the same DLC as the others over USFII.Street Fighter V
sorry

You'd be surprised. But again, Sony has the game on lock-down.Any sane person would.
In regards to Switch, Capcom will think of how to support the Switch while looking at how Street Fighter 2 does on the system in May
It doesn't say anything with clarityOh, c'mon! I mean, I plan to pick this up, but using USF2 as any type of gauge to determine if future support is warranted is way beyond stupid. Capcom's trolling hard.
That makes no sense. You don't judge how well a port for an old game does in order to determine support for new hardware.
They should port Dino Crisis to the Switch (and PC).
I'd take sf2 over 4 and 5 any time.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't announce a Dragon's Dogma port.Dear Capcom
Monster Hunter Switch
Dragons Dogma Switch
Breath of Fire revival (BOF6 was so offensive i dont know where to begin)
I actually like good or tolerable art styles.I question your sanity.
I hope you are taking about a good version of SF2 (there are a lot, on different platforms).I'd take sf2 over 4 and 5 any time.

Lol?I actually like good or tolerable art styles.
I got sf4 on ps4 and just hate the way it looks.I hope you are taking about a good version of SF2 (there are a lot, on different platforms).
Because this one is trash. Eurogamer had the courage to judge it simple and clear: "AVOID".
Not saying they aren't. But not sure what is good about the flat 3d look either. The new sprites in USF2 are ass.
This would be kinda heart-breaking since Alan Young passed away (he came back for DuckTales Remastered to voice Scrooge McDuck), but I suppose they can use the new cast.Capcom properties I'd like to see
A cell shaded Ghost N Goblins that shows no mercy
A cell shaded 3D Final Fight with a deep fighting system
Resident Evil 2 Remake in FP and VR
A Mega Man with Guilty Gear Sign graphics
Power Stone 3
DuckTales 3 that resembles the Wayforward remake
A Marvel Planet Hulk adventure game
Monster Hunter with good graphics and hit detection
A Strider 2, but with beautiful Japanese art
I... Don't remember that being the reason at all. They don't mess around. Mega Man Legend 3 was canned after poor sales of the 3DS.
A Strider 2, but with beautiful Japanese art
I just don't think most third parties want to deal with Nintendo consoles anymore, even if they're actually successful.
I think a lot of it has its roots in the fact that Nintendo kinda treated third party companies like ass back in the day with their hardware and policies. They just had to put up with it because there wasn't much else to go to. Sony saw that and took advantage of it by making the Playstation the ultimate dream for third parties. When that happened, it seems like third parties realized they didn't need Nintendo anymore and basically ran off, writing their home console business off for good.
I'd take sf2 over 4 and 5 any time.
