Chinese factory that leaked Switch (NX) production in 2016 expects increased revenue this year due to new Switch in Q1 2024

A chinese company that manufactures and assembles metal casings and heat dissipation modules expects increased revenue in the second half of 2023 due to new iPhones, laptops, and a new Nintendo Switch console expected to come out in Q1 2024:

Machine translation:
Hongzhun (2354), a major metal casing manufacturer, will welcome multiple momentums in the second half of the year. With the start of new iPhones, the peak season of game consoles, and the recovery of notebook shipments, Hongzhun’s three major businesses (cases, game consoles) will continue to grow in June.
[...]
In addition, although the overall momentum of game consoles this year is mediocre, in the second half of the year, with the advent of the traditional peak season, the purchase of game consoles is expected to increase compared with the first half of the year, and Nintendo plans to launch the Switch in Q1 next year. Based on this estimate, Hongzhun’s game console assembly business can expand.

The same website leaked that the Nintendo NX (Switch) was in production back in March 2016, one year before release:

Machine translation:
In response to the launch of iPhone 7 and Nintendo NX, [...] it is expected that the company's second half of the year will be significantly stronger than the first half of the year.

------------------------

Q1 2024 is just an estimate from their part, but that indicates Switch 2 is starting production soon and that we'll likely see it in the first half of 2024.

UPDATE:

According to the same website, another Chinese company (Yuanxiang, also known as PixArt) that makes CMOS sensors expects increased revenue because a "Japanese gaming console will be launched at the beginning of next year after several years of absence.". PixArt made the infrared sensor for the Wii and the Nintendo Switch.

CMOS image sensor manufacturer Yuanxiang (3227) benefits from a positive market outlook, high demand in the AI market, and significant recovery in the second quarter. With business rebounding from the bottom and entering the peak season in the third quarter, the outlook for the second half of the year is expected to be better than the first half. Strong momentum in the security and mouse order sectors is driving the business upward.

However, it is worth noting that according to the supply chain, a Japanese gaming console will be launched at the beginning of next year after several years of absence. This gaming console is also one of Yuanxiang's key customers, and it is expected to further boost business momentum in the second half of the year.

In addition to the AI trend, Yuanxiang is also expanding its presence, primarily focusing on devices for edge computing, especially those requiring low power consumption and high efficiency sensors. As a result, Yuanxiang is actively laying out multiple products, including global shutter image sensors, which can be applied in consumer electronics, machine vision, and industrial applications, among other fields

So if its releasing in Q1 2024, the announcement/reveal should be this year right?
If they release it in, say, March, wouldn’t January be too late for the reveal? It HAS to be a reveal this year. Soooo, August reveal? Maybe September at the latest? Oct Nov Dec is the holiday season & they want to focus on the game releases so it wont be those months.
Exciting times.

Probably a October reveal.

Probably fiscal Q1, so the second quarter. Say like a reveal in February and a launch in May/June.

I doubt they would announce it this year unless it was also coming out this year. They did that with the original Switch but Wii U sales were already in the toilet at that point.

Why miss the holiday season though? Switch was released in March but most other Nintendo consoles were released in November I believe.

Watch this be a new Switch Lite! People will lose their minds - Nintendo will milk the Switch until late 2025!

It doesn't say anything specifically about a new console, just a "new" Switch, which could mean a bunch of different things.

Also important to note that we don't have any evidence that the new Nintendo console will be called Switch, or even be similar to the Switch in any way, although most people take that for granted at this point. We must remember Nintendo is always making nonsensical, high risk decisions in regards to their consoles.

This makes more sense. I was confused by the suggestion that it would launch in the actual first quarter of next year, because that would mean that Nintendo would either have to announce it this year and risk losing out on holiday sales or that they would have less than three months to promote the system between announcement and launch. Announcing at the beginning of the year and launching six months or so later during the summer just seems so much more plausible.

Unless Nintendo wants to completely tank their market/mindshare and lose all momentum they aren't going to announce "another" Switch Lite. What the hell purpose would such a device even serve?

After 7 years on the market It's time to move FORWARD with the generation, not backwards or laterally.

Switch TV, no handheld version, just a home console so they have handheld, hybrid, and console.
If Nintendo wanted to keep the switch alive past the switch 2 a low cost box would be smart, if they made say the switch box and switch micro for 150 (100 would be better but thats dream territory) would be brilliant as a low cost way to bring people into their system

I'm not disagreeing with you. But this announcement could be anything related to a new Switch model - Switch Pro, Switch Lite Revision, Switch Slim (maybe at $249.99 with a game), etc.

I’ll tell you what would be smart business.

Switch 2 launching with Super Mario Bros Wonder. This holiday season. You can buy the switch version or you can buy the 4K Switch 2 version. And an update to Tears of The Kingdom to 4K.

A 4K Switch 2 launch with a mario game and a 4K Tears would do GANGBUSTERS in sales. And it would be so wizard.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the OLED switch, as a portable machine it is amazing. Great screen, swappable controls, and great battery life. Sure it's not fast. But if the games are made with that in mind, like Nintendo said, it allows for one to still create interesting games. It doesn't matter how fast a device is, it'll still soon enough drop from that perfect native 60 or whatever framerate.

Switch could go without being replaced for another 20 years, it would make little difference - it still would run the games Nintendo develops for it, and it'd be the only place outside emulation to play them.

Fall 24 is most likely the release date , if it was q1, they would’ve started production all ready.
Production starts about 5-6 months before a product launch, so no.

However, sales of the Switch are too damn strong, so fall 2024 at the earliest sounds right.

If Nintendo want to take this year's holiday season with them, they gotta announced it fairly soon. If they haven't announced a new device by September or October, they'd have a very short time to get marketing out otherwise. So my guess is that we'll hear about new hardware early 2024 and this year's holiday season will still focus on the Switch with Super Mario Bros. Wonder as the main driver.

They could launch it in April for Easter with a Yoshi game that fits with the whole egg thing.

Whatever they release, here’s hoping it’ll be backwards compatible with current switch games.
