Coming to PC and consoles from Crytek US (old Vigil Games). Here's the press release:

Press Release said:
Brace yourself for a spine-chilling new multiplayer experience on PC and consoles as Crytek ventures into the shadows in "HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age".

An all-new IP, HUNT is a third-person action game where up to four players band together to fend off an onslaught of bloodthirsty creatures and track down breathtaking bosses. Featuring intense co-op gameplay, HUNT is the debut title from Crytek USA Corp., and will be published by Crytek as part of their growing Games-as-a-Service range. Players won't have to wait long to take a closer look at HUNT in action, with the game going on show at this year's E3 expo from June 10-12.

David Adams, CEO of Crytek USA Corp., said: "In HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we've created. From the outset of the development process, we've poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays HUNT will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities."

Set in the late 1800s, HUNT depicts a world where so-called myths and folklore actually point to the terrifying truth about evil lurking just beyond the fringes of day-to-day life. Players act as hunters willing to take up arms and risk their necks by venturing into the deadliest of territories and facing the hideous creatures that have overrun them.

Adding to the thrill of the hunt is a special content generation system that ensures players never encounter exactly the same environment or set of enemies twice. As the surprises come thick and fast, the terror of knowing that one of the game's grueling boss battles could be just around the corner will keep everyone's pulses pounding. Defeating bosses will require close collaboration between hunters as they attempt to figure out and take down some truly terrifying monsters.

HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age is scheduled to enter Closed Beta testing on PC later this year, and players can sign up for a chance to experience the game first at http://www.huntthegame.com

E3 2014 attendees looking to see HUNT in the flesh should visit Crytek at booth 4500 in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

For some reason, Arena of Fate was the article headline from EG when it went live. Can a mod fix the thread title to reflect the correct title, Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age?

most likely l4d but a new isometric horror game would be pretty awesome

The site mentions some weapon customization as well as having the maps play out differently each time. Maybe some L4D Director style stuff going on?

It mentions PC and console but what are the chances of MS pulling a Titanfall on this one?

Someone get tragic here to talk about the combat system and convince us that it isn't doomed because it's free to play.

yeah sounds like it changes the monster set i think thats pretty neat would be cool if they have to be tackled differently like zombies only going down with head shots and stuff like that but well see what they do with it theres gotta be something on it at e3

More co-op = great!

Signed up for the beta. Will keep an eye on what it does. Next week should be interesting.

If you're doing L4D style games, I think it's important to remember that the core of the game is Versus. This doesn't seem to have it, which is a shame as that is one of the main reasons why L4D works so well.

I don't have much interest in grinding out the same few missions against AI. After you learn patterns it's not particularly interesting nor anywhere near as satisfying as besting a rival team of humans. Even better with competitive yet asymmetrical gameplay.

I assume this is kind of recouped assets that have been retooled and repurposed from what they had planned for Darksiders 3? Keen to see how it turns out, regardless.

This looks great. I'm glad it's not another FPS.

People should at least wait to hear about the F2P model before complaining...With so many recent/upcoming proper F2P games, it doesn't make any sense blindly dismiss F2P games.

Vigil Games are superb developers so as long as this isn't F2P, I'll keep a close eye on this.

f2p dosnt have to be bad if it means well get free new monster types and maps every now and then mixed with either paying for doodads or selling new playable heroes that play differently then the rest im ok with that

I'm assuming we'll have some gameplay at E3, since they're showing this now and it's coming out soon?

EDIT: I hope the monetizing involves more playable female characters. I'm ok with the dude to ther left though.
