Stop with the jesus stuff, at least until I actually fix the game.
It might be that there really are issues with this one which prevent a higher rendering resolution from being implemented. You never know.

ps3 port was horrendous
wouldn't be surprised if this is locked at 30 fps and renders at 1024 x 768
The developers, or more likely the publishers. So what's the deal with this and Dark Souls? Beyond "lol Japan", I mean.
I understand the framerate caps in games like Naruto, but in the cases of resolution in Dark Soul and Deadly Premonition is it most likely due to the devs not wanting to pay for minor menu updates and any extra QA that would go into testing different resolutions?
hahaIf you care about resolution, get a PS4.
Can't wait for someone to defend this inexcusable shit.
People defend the terribleness of the actual game as charming or some shit like that. I'm sure they can come up with something for this too.
You sound like you haven't actually played it so whatever.

If you're playing Deadly Premonition and it looks like anything better than crap you're not really playing Deadly Premonition. I'm only half kidding...
They also made DMC3.
Look, as annoying as these framerate-locked, resolution-locked PC ports are, at least they work. That's better than I can say for a lot of games from all over the globe. And I can't help but shake my head at people who say games like Deadly Premonition or Dark Souls are the worst PC ports of all time when they are perfectly functional on PC, don't have outrageous hardware requirements, faithful to the original game designs, and aren't missing any features from other versions of the game.
Hell, Dark SoulstD Edition is the definitive version of the game, even without DSFix, and that doesn't stop people from saying it's the worst PC port of all time, or a bad port of the game.
In the Steam thread he asked if the game was actually good. And now he suddenly knows it's terrible?
I know. Look, I'll take a fix if there can be one, but people expecting higher resolutions will make a difference in this game, just stop GAF.
.
I was planning to play this today, so it's good news for me. Now I won't have to waste hours disabling my keyboard driver and editing .inis. It is a console game, so I want a console-like experience out of it. Just install and play. Sadly, I will have to replace .dlls when durante's fix come.
No, but it's pretty inexcusable. Pricing it $5 more in 2013 than they did in 2010 is an issue for me, too.For a Japanese developer's first effort on the platform, i'm less bothered with that. Would you rather no game at all? And it's a learning experience for them. Look how good the PC version of Dark Souls 2 is shaping to be.

Higher resolutions do make a difference. Why else would people play Wii games on their computer?
Also, have you tried playing 4 player splitscreen games, formerly playable at 480p on a SD television, in glorious high definition? Suddenly, "I can't see shit" is no longer a legitimate issue, in Mario Kart.
I was interested in Deadly Premonition, but I'll pass unless Durante can do something about it. Why would anyone buy a horrible PC port when they could pick up the PS3 or 360 versions with the same specs for considerably cheaper?
Goodluck, Durante!
Wait... Maybe.... They don't have consoles.... Maybe..... Maaaaaaybeeee......I was interested in Deadly Premonition, but I'll pass unless Durante can do something about it. How does a higher (i.e. native) resolution not tremendously effect IQ? Nobody is expecting the game to suddenly become a looker with the presumable DPfix.
thanks for digging up your standards to show us all. you can sit down now.
I actually always thought it sounded somewhat interesting, ever since reading about the original console release on GAF. Also voted for it on Greenlight IIRC. I wasn't planning to get it until a sale, but it's really not all that expensive.I've never even heard of this game. Gotta give Durante a lot of respect even for looking into it. PC gaming needs more folks like him.
Well, anyone can help if they want, it's open source after all.I've never even heard of this game. Gotta give Durante a lot of respect even for looking into it. PC gaming needs more folks like him.
Also, a quick question Durante: did FROM software EVER message you to thank you for your work on the PC version, or ask for any kind of input for the sequel? It seems insane to me that you effectively saved this game for many people on the PC, yet receive no acknowledgement from the devs or the publisher for your efforts.

That would be like openly admitting they screwed things up, which isn't something publishers usually do.Also, a quick question Durante: did FROM software EVER message you to thank you for your work on the PC version, or ask for any kind of input for the sequel? Or they want a copy that:
1) will always be available with instant backwards compatibility
2) can improve with mods.

There's no preload for this game is there?

Even the reviews admit it's terrible. 1 even gave it a 10/10 while admitting it was completely terrible. I couldn't figure out if I was being trolled or not.
