I still think that DriveClub overall is better then pCars on the consoles. Yes DC is 1080p/30 but it runs amazing and also looks better then pCars.
I hope they release a pCars demo.
DC is closer to to sega rally than proper simulation though.

But the render team itself said it have AFx8. Ey, the DF cake is a lie, isn't?
A pyrrhic victory, then. PS4 takes home the "Least Egregious Loser" award. That doesn't mean PS4 isn't performing better.
Should have just cut rain out altogether in the console versions.
PS4 has its framerate issues but it has a clear lead over the Xbox Ones framerate which is all over the place add to that the lower resolution its not great for MS.
This is one game that makes me wish I had a better PC
PS4:
+1080P
+More stable frame rate
-less AF
-Ghosting
Xbox One
-900P
-Less stable frame rate (especially when there are lots of alpha effects like in the rain)
+Better AF
+No Ghosting
Yeah DF did go for the worst case scenarios here, but it's something I'd like to see.I was ready to be shocked at those frame rates on a supposedly 60fps racer, but those are under extreme loads. 45 cars on a track, in the rain.

That's not actually what was said though was it, they said there was 2xAF on certain parts, 4xAF on others, and 8xAF on others.
Digital Foundry's Forza 5 Analysis said:By all tests, Forza 5 runs at a flawlessly solid 60fps during 16 player races. It's a respectable feat given the resolution boost and more ambitious geometry of the Prague stage, and one which sets a precedent for future racing sims in the new console generation.
Where are you getting that from? It's not in these excerpts.

Hey!! We're in panic mode here, and in you come with your Mr Sensible pants onI was ready to be shocked at those frame rates on a supposedly 60fps racer, but those are under extreme loads. 45 cars on a track, in the rain.
What you want. Take a look back at the messages and enjoy your 60 fps/AFx4+AFx8/perfect IQ EQAA with "no visible while playing double image" console game.
At least ps4 players will have more precision because they have double race line arrows. If you know what I mean.

Doesn't the PS4 have temporal AA, that's what leads to the ghosting.

Yep, PS4 has an extra AA pass.
Because they review the game, not one specific metric that most gamers don't even know or care about?...How can reviewers give this a good score on the consoles when it can't maintain anything close to 60fps as a sim racer?

Yeah, I decided to go with X1 as well. This doesn't really do anything to make me regret it.Still XB1 for me.
But they are both designed for completely different audiences so what's the point in comparing them? Project Cars is a sim and Driveclub is more arcadey. Unless you just mean in performance/graphics, then never mind!
Seeing lots of double digit differences in the stress test video, also some pretty obscene tearing...
Dat subtle Nvidia advertisingSeeing lots of double digit differences in the stress test video, also some pretty obscene tearing...
This just looks like ps2 style motionblur or a broken Temporal AA. It doesn't look good and doesn't look intentional.
If so, then it is poorly implemented. TAA should not do that. Only in the worst case scenario for certain objects... not the entire screen all the time (unless it is bad, like HRAA).
It's not a bug. It's a side effect of the way we do AA on PS4, and is arguably a good thing (hear me out!). It's there, and very noticeable from static images of non-direct feed footage especially, but also undeniably in the game itself (mainly when paused). I spotted it and reported it as soon as it got checked in long ago (so we didn't "miss it" as many would have you believe).
However, I also "spotted" that the PS4 version has really lovely image quality, a very smooth and slightly soft (not low res!), "non-gamey" look, which is very natural, and (imo!) rather fantastic, due to this very clever AA approach. It also greatly minimises the distant "shimmer" you often see in console racing games, which is a side effect of low quality AA on thin vertical objects such as fences.
So yes, the ghosting effect is there, if you look hard enough. The advantages far outweigh this small disadvantage however. Notwithstanding that, if customer feedback demands it, we have a plan to add a UI slider in a future update, which will enable you to tune out the ghosting, at the expense of more aliasing and distant shimmer.
Precisely it's over 30 cars in the rain etc etc any game would buckle if they tested their engine that muchHey!! We're in panic mode here, and in you come with your Mr Sensible pants on
Isn't pCARS advertised as a 60 fps game on consoles? Or do they just say 60fps counting the PC as well?
Seems like a very poor show if they do as it is averaging 40 frames on certain tracks/environments.
What resolutions and frame-rate will Project CARS run at?
Up to 12K resolution on PC (frame-rate dependent on PC hardware)
1080p, 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4
900p, 60 frames per second on Xbox One
