Any updates on when they expect to release it?
Paying customers still can't connect most of the time. You have to figure the plus version won't launch until the retail version is straightened out.

PlayStation Plus subscribers are entitled to what they were told would be a benefit for their paid subscription. Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition was one of those promised
If the game is a couple weeks late but you still get it, is that so bad?
I'm so confused by all of the complaining. The online doesn't work. They're fixing it and then we'll get our plus edition.

I guess we have to wonder which would be worse. The complaining about not having the game, or the complaining about having the game and not being able to play it.
If it's broken then I'm ok with them taking a few weeks to fix things. That's less frustrating to me. There are other games to play.
Sony used driveclub as one of the main ps+ selling points since the reveal. Evo should have planned better.

Nope, and I think that's what's rubbing people the wrong way, the lack of communication.
Personally, I'd bet it doesn't get released.

Yes. I'm in FL, but yes they have.Redbox started rentals for PS4 games?

you guys are not understanding the complain... if u pay u can play offline y cant the same ... be done by the ps+ subscriber?
All of the PSN complaints make no sense. PSN covers three platforms all of which has it's own free games. It's probably harder to maintain the service because of this. And then you have people that asks, "Is this what I'm paying for?!" when last gen on the 360 all you got was online; and people were perfectly fine with it. You guys (you know who you are) need to stop trying to pin this one game on PSN and claiming this is some sort of catastrophe. It's a "free" game with "mediocre" scores. Why so thirsty? I just can't stand the "embarrassment" people.
I am sorry, but this seems kind of preposterous. If the reason for the game being down is the servers, why on earth would Sony/Evolution withhold the game once the server issues are resolved? Do people think they are going to just fold their arms and give up?Nope, and I think that's what's rubbing people the wrong way, the lack of communication.

Like i give a fuck as a consumer about how hard it might be to maintain the service on 3 platforms.
There's a difference between rescinding a game and delaying it.
I don't think most publishers in their right mind would stop all sales of a product that's going through a rough launch. But delaying the free version seems like the lesser of two evils. Imagine the bitching from people who wouldn't be able to buy the game.

The purported reason for withholding the PS+ edition is because they are having network overloading issues, and don't want people to feel disappointed by the game as it stands now. If that's the case, then wouldn't people who purchase the game also be disappointed?
By continuing to sell the game, they are piling added network traffic onto their already overloaded servers. Each new player they take on is compounding the problem. To manage the problem, they need to restrict and contain network traffic, not increase it!
If they are truly motivated to solve the problem as quickly as possible, then they need to focus their efforts and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Yanking the game off of PS Store would show they are serious about addressing the problem. Continuing to sell the game shows a lack of focus and a lack of responsibility.
Like it or not Sony is not the only company with consistency issues. Comcast (cable company) frequently has issues and so do phone companies and yet people don't really complain. Shit happens, plain and simple.
Oh god what. People complain about them all the time.Comcast (cable company) frequently has issues and so do phone companies and yet people don't really complain.
Nope, $50 for the upgrade. $60 retail or non upgrade
I really want to try online racing before recommending anyone purchase it. I'm pretty satisfied with the full game so far though.
Interesting. Where'd you get this info that directly contradicts what Rushy himself has said? Tell us more.I think Sony did not provide enough servers. They probably had little faith in the product other than it's free and people may check out a dying genre.

Rushy tweeted that it wasn't about the hardware - which is up to the task - its about the software. Specifically a concurrency issue related to how much activity they process per player.I think Sony did not provide enough servers. (full article)CraveOnline said:Driveclub is built around a complex social system that constantly pings the server to obtain leaderboard information for its Faceoff system, allowing players to compete with others for high scores in drifting, corner accuracy, and average speed. A few untested variables within this system have resulted in a hellish first week on the market, plagued by server outages and disconnects. Evolution Studios has more planned to address the issue, but sounds confident that this patch is a big step toward obtaining the stability its looking for.

Huehuehue
Well, my account comes in Reg2 (KSA account), but we have everything expensive on the store compared to Reg1 accounts.

Googling last night led me to this CraveOnline article on the patch that had some details:

Oh man I wish all of my clients were this understanding.
Is there any other industry other than video games where you can release a completely broken product or no product at all and people are kind of ok with it?
Don't want to make a thread in case it will get locked fast, but I just played Driveclub and the framerate, while supposedly is consistent, is jerky. I dunno if it is frame pacing or whatever.
And also the IQ is garbage. It doesn't look 1080p, I can't read any text just a couple of meters away from the car. There is no issue of this in any other game.

You could post in the OT.
Saying that, I haven't heard anything about an inconsistent frame-rate. I haven't gotten round to playing it yet mind, I was busy with SoM, but this is the first time I've someone complain about the frame-rate.

PS+ Edition has been a promised entitlement for PS+ users for over a year now.Okay...care to expand on that? You got your 6 freebies for October. Enjoy them they're amazing.

I don't know where you got this notion.
Yeah PSN Plus gives us way more value for our money than XBL ever did last-gen.But not to this extent. I should have been more specific. What I ment was people act like it doesn't happen anywhere else. And besides, when people were paying $30-60 on barebones online I really didn't hear anyone complaining; people were even defending it.
Square Enix did,

but to be fair Square Enix are certifiably insane

I have no problems with a delay, but they should have the decency and courtesy to announce it.
The company has done an substandard job of managing consumer expectations. The least they could do is provide a realistic time frame of when we should expect to see the game. They have neglected to do this.
But not to this extent.

It isn't inconsistent, but the motion is horrible. Sort of like how Reach has smoother motion than Destiny, Driveclub's motion just felt horrible. Going back and forth with FH2, the feeling of control was so much better.
I will wait until I get Driveclub and put it on my monitor (which shows aliasing for FH2 everywhere, but shows a perfect clean image) and compare there.
