As someone who has been burned by TV shows where the writers have no fucking clue what they're doing, the cynic in me can't help but see that stuff as a cheap gimmick that is trying to hide some unknown deficiency with the show.
But hey, at least this show won't waste 6 years of anyone's life. lol

In terms of trends, anime's locked into a 15-year and 30-year cycle now; that's about how long it takes to go from impressionable little kid to animator, and about how many years in the industry it takes before animators get enough seniority to be put in charge of original projects.
This isn't a hard and fast rule, but it can definitely be applied to Gundam kids/Eva teens making Madoka, and to Go Nagai kids/Gundam teens making Eva. I fully expect the next huge original hit in 2025ish, and to be some kind of delayed response in that conversation.
Its entirely possible that some may enjoy it.
Its dumb entertainment but still written well enough to enjoy it.

Well, I mean that we're in the Haremshit Generation now. But we just don't understand it because we're living in it. The guy who makes something awesome in 2025 will be the one who takes Haremshit tropes and thinks of a new way to pander to creepy otaku that doesn't involve making the girl
Heck, if tweens are having sex now, maybe sex will be totally naturalized by the time we get to 2025-2030 and all the shame bullshit connected to sexuality that arises out of (religious) socialization will be a thing of the past. At that point, the idea of the "virgin blush" might actually have no meaning any more.
(Or I suppose we could go in the opposite direction and become more puritan and even the concept of finger-sex is going to be seen as too risque for television).

I'm probably going to avoid those type of shows for now. What's mainly going on right now with me is that I seem to be facing the paradox of choice; there are so much stuff out there that I need to watch that I'm kind of overwhelmed trying to figure out where to start.
Alternately, in this free love future (as if; it's Japan, dude!) they're just going to have to keep going younger and younger to ensure that the character could realistically be a virgin.

To be honest I would recommend watching those shows when you have less on your plate.
They are highly entertaining because they are awful, but there is too much great stuff to see if you are just starting out.

You know, maybe this is blasphemy, but assuming the art style of the source material is exactly the same, I think I like the Joshiraku/JC Staff renderings of Kumeta's art more than the Shaft-o version.
But maybe I'm tricked by the moe girls being moe gimmick.

Here and there. You know, life is distracting sometimes - blasphemy, I know. But I'll try to be around more often. I really miss AnimeGAF and everyone that makes it so awesome.
It felt really unnecessary at best. Very little was changed. The only thing I noticed that was different was towards the end when the two girls were in the sky together they were wearing these sparkly dresses instead of appearing nude. I had recently watched the series back to back and I really felt that the story and pacing benefited the most from the one cour format. The two-part movie is roughly 60 minutes short of the entire series, so it really adds nothing when viewed as a complimentary piece to the original. It's kind of like choosing between a 12oz steak, and a 10oz steak, when really one should have been the 12oz steak, and the other should have been a leaner, more petite, and more delicious filet mignon with sauteed mushrooms. Ya'll know what I'm sayin here.

It was ok-ish? It really wasn't living up to its parodying ways besides going on they are based off whomever and I guess Mr. Tetris having nothing but inserting puns.
Action wasn't much scene, budget saving techniques were seen everywhere, I almost thought this become a harem series after Ms. Archer was willing to imaginary go all the way.
At least it's three episodes, so I guess it'll go somewhere or speed through everything anyway. Also, please shut up about Tails. When you have women imaginary throwing themselves at you, shut up about Tails.
Hopefully, this will lead to a Neptunia anime someday. At least they'll probably chuck references in your face instead of never.
