Both can be true. The prologue as well as the first few areas of act 1 most user will still be at, should run pretty well based on the PC version. Loading a late act2 or act3 save though will paint a much different picture.I'd take this "tech analysis" from an unknown channel with a grain of salt. PS5 user impressions are all extremely positive in terms of performance. Not sure why this unknown channel was even posted in the first place.
It seems like it. I’m playing on my ancient 6700k and 980ti, I run it at 1280x800 ultra and stream to deck. Load times are super fast on ssd. I thought it’d be perfect on ps5.Performance mode is probably there to check the "performance mode" box. Shouldn't exist.
Loading time is abysmal, reeks of a shit port.
You making performance thread that's not DF is the real story here lol

This guy has no credibility.- Quality mode: 1440p, targets 30 FPS
- Performance mode: Also looks 1440p but targets 60 FPS
- Performance mode: Lots of drops, can drop below 30
- Visual quality between Quality and Performance looks same.
The fuck?
Seriously, I can tell a texture quality and lighting difference as well as resolution just from my eyes only, not even using tools. I’d take this info with a grain of saltThis guy has no credibility.
I'll wait for the DF boys or NX Gamer

They're by far the slowest I ever experienced on PS5.
John is no German Guy, he is British. He only lives in Germany. He's German. Just like Alex and John.
If it was given for free different story. So people have the full right to complain about something that doesn't work properly(bugs, framerate issues etc.). People like you are part of the problem.Great thread to counter all the shitposting about Star Field look people .. these are games, not smooth framerates as real life. Enjoy what has been given to you and don’ t complain to much.
The sheer arrogance you have or are you just ignorant?Enjoy what has been given to you and don’ t complain to much.
Games are not life changing events, enjoy them for what they are, critic that is on point but don’t go overboard which happens a lot here , remember that people are developing, (not robots) and imagine what the challenges can be as a developer. The sheer arrogance you have or are you just ignorant?
So he is British with an American accent? Yeaaahhhh... *John voice*John is no German Guy, he is British. He only lives in Germany.

I'm pretty sure the game is cross-save.But no one has access to act 2 or act 3 rn on ps5.
I'm pretty sure the game is cross-save.
Erm I’m playing this on PS5 and it looks very sharp and performs great in performance mode.
I'm playing on PS5 since yesterday and the game runs and looks find in performance mode. Only the loading times are very long, indeed.
what?TL;DR
- Quality mode: 1440p, targets 30 FPS
- Performance mode: Also looks 1440p but targets 60 FPS
- Quality mode: 30 FPS, can drop below target.
- Performance mode: Lots of drops, can drop below 30 as well. Has lots of screen tearing.
- VRR fixes tearing as long as the game is in VRR range
- Visual quality between Quality and Performance looks same.
- Load times: Fast travel took 43~ seconds.
I already mentioned that, but the "Empörungs-Maschinerie" is already rolling.Erm I’m playing this on PS5 and it looks very sharp and performs great in performance mode.
Sounds like one is just unlocked vs locked framerate. Same settings. The game didn't even get a physical release so my guess is they didn't really put as much effort into the PS5 version as they should have. It's a shame because it's a great game. Who knows, maybe a patch will fix it.- Quality mode: 1440p, targets 30 FPS
- Performance mode: Also looks 1440p but targets 60 FPS
- Performance mode: Lots of drops, can drop below 30
- Visual quality between Quality and Performance looks same.
