Out of Order.
So... you don't think GT5 and TLG release debacles were bad?
It's bad management and yes Shu is partly responsible.

Sony's own employees admit StudioJapan was a huge mess. Team ICO missed an entire generation. It's been about 8-9 years since Shadow of the Colossus released. Why are you even paying these guys if they can't get a game out?
Surely Shu must've known what was going on there, and if he didn't... that's his own fault. He's the President after all. He should know what's going on.
Simple really, you don't have enough information to say he's managed his studios well or not.
Oh... why even have a forum to discuss anything then?
They demoed the game? When was the embargo for that? Where are those articles that speak about that demo and the fact it was on PC?BTW last time RAD demoed this game (Gamescom) it was running on PC
Doesn't sound good at all

Then what did GameInformer see if the last time they demoed it was at Gamescom?
Ready at Dawn wasn't showing much gameplay of its upcoming alternate-history shooter The Order, but the tech it did demonstrate was impressive.
Ru spent most of the session talking about how The Order: 1886 uses a revolutionary physics system which allows individual objects and its constituent materials to be realistically broken up or deformed ad infinitum. During his presentation the audience was treated to two live prototype gameplay demonstrations (running on a PC with PS4-approximate specs) showing these features in action, and also demonstrating how objects in the environment such as flags are affected by the physical forces associated with a particular environment (in this case wind). Each of the three flags we saw in the second demo fluttered independently of each other, seemingly affected by their position in relation to the wind.

That kotaku article where its said that over 40 projects were in development at JapanStudio is telling enough. A "free for all" environment... how much more info do you need to say that's mis-management?
ITT:
Footage delayed
Game delayed
No games for 2014
SCE is mis-managed
Shu is terrible
My fault, I elaborated why some people might feel Shu is not doing his job well. I think we should leave it for now. I plan on making a thread about Shu sucking at his job over the weekend so we can move the conversation there then.
How do you come to the conclusion that the game is getting delayed?

Sony's publishing it, so it is first party. Why are we talking about Shu...this isn't a first party game
Well have to say Ubisoft is one company that triumphs in this department. They provide meaty gameplay trailers at most of the conferences well before the release.

There really is no such thing as "second party". Sony owns the IP, RAD is making the game while being an independent studio. That's all. That would actually make it second party. First Party studio has to be owned by Sony.

Apparently this game's tech was in development for 5 years (the soft body physics stuff) I am guessing they might be having trouble getting the code to run on PS4 or something
GT 1 and 3 were launched shortly after PS1 and PS2 were released and sold extremely well, so don't use that excuse of being an early game holds back sales.

Don't you remember that Sony was showing nearly everything at E3/Gamescom on PC devkits?
Some fearmongering jackass from IGN even tried to start some FUD about it on Twitter:

Why are people STILL jumping to conclusions? This was posted 2 pages ago yet it was ignored?

Where is this Shu hatred coming from lately? He manages the largest and most diverse first party studios in the world and they've released some fantastic games in the past couple years.Absolutely bloody pathetic. They have had more than enough time to throw out another trailer, the fact its not ready just shows awful Shu is at managing first party. Sony better have more than Uncharted to show at VGX.
GT was released 3 years after the PS1 launched.
GT3, 1 year.
So wht exactly are you rambling about?
Quite a few of us remember how shitty Sony were with software during the early days of the PS3, and this is beginning to feel a whole lot like it.
Jesus Christ, it's one trailer no-show and everyone's acting like the game has been cancelled or something!
Wrong.PS2 came out October 2000
GT3 came out July 2001
So only GT3 was out just 8 months after launch. And it is by far the best selling Gran Turismo game according to Polyphony's official website.

Halo 3 came out just 10 months after 360 released and sold like crazy.
So I really don't get the whole "we must release on a bigger user base" excuse. People with new systems are hungrier for games.
Especially as a 1st party like Sony and MS... Your exclusive games sell the hardware.

He completely fudged all chances of a successful mascot fighter with PSBR, continues to fund Guerilla and Sony London despite lacklustre results time and time again, let go of Studio Liverpool despite the amazing Wipeout franchise which may I add has not been marketed well in fact outside of ND and SSM the marketing for titles have been terrible. Mismanaged Studio Japan and let development escalate with TLG and GT5 and the icing on the cake, the guy ruined the Banderas gif with his embarrassing attempt.
Well yeah, if you're so obviously desperate to hate the guy, I'm sure he's made a number of mistakes. But based on Sony's first party software output, he's had a lot more hits then misses.
I feel like you've been waiting all this time for the slightest bad news so you can tell us how you really feel.
