You'll Be Able to Drive this Glorious Ferrari 166MM in Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3, the open-world racing game set in Australia, won't be here until September 27. But while we wait, the developers are keeping our attention by slowly revealing new cars you'll be able to drive each week. This week, though, we were able to get a sneak peak at which cars will be included before they're officially announced.

First, we have a 1948 Ferrari 166MM Barchetta.

If you've ever heard the song "Red Barchetta" by Rush, you're no doubt familiar with this car. But racing fans also know the 166MM for its racing success, including 1949's 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1950 Mille Miglia.

Next, there's the 1953 Maserati A6GCS/53 Pininfarina Berlinetta.

The Pininfarina-bodied Maserati A6GCS is incredibly gorgeous, but it wasn't all about looks—the Berlinetta could drive, too. The 170 horsepower its inline six made doesn't sound like much today, but at the time, it was a successful race car.

You'll also be able to drive a 1969 Jaguar Mk II 3.8

Like the other cars here, the Jaguar MKII is a beautiful classic with a storied racing history. It's every bit a British luxury car, but its powerful 3.8-liter engine gave it enough power to win several Touring Car Championships. That speed also made it a popular get-away car for criminals.

And while we've only got renderings of these three classics, we can also reveal 11 additional cars that will be included in the game. They are:

1980 Abarth Fiat 131
2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe
1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
1985 Ford RS200 Evolution
1977 Ford Escort RS1800
1966 Ford Lotus Cortina
2015 Infiniti Q60 Concept
2015 Lexus RC F
1997 McLaren F1 GT
1958 Plymouth Fury

Great list. I'm particularly excited about the F1 GT and 1M.
Some new FH3 footage in our latest FM6 car pack trailer. Make sure to watch until the end :)

Love the switch over. I'm a fan of the Gen 3 V's.

Hahah, where was that person that said they'd insta-buy and Xbox One and FH3 if the CTS-V made it in?
Haha guess I'm getting an Xbox one S this fall, amazing!

Edit: Ok i think this trailer was made specifically for me! Holy shit! Now the icing on the cake will be the gen 2 vagon! Lol make it happen

I get more and more excited for this game! :D Say was there anything said about Horizon 3 having the option to paint your car again? Really all I want from this game is driving around Australia with a custom-painted Nissan 370Z :p And I started to worry when Apex didn't have the old painting-system in place :/

Hoping they keep adding more semi-obscure cars from the 80s and 90s. Haven't really been properly treated since GT4 launched. Too bad this game has no audience in Japan, since GT isn't about that at all anymore. There are so many cool JDM classics that nobody really knows about.

Great to see the heaps of Australian domestics though.

For sure you'll be able to make your own designs.

Holy fuck, I was just thinking the other day about how the Nissan R92CP hasn't been featured in any modern games (or at least in a detailed form) and now Forza is getting basically the same thing? That pack is worth it just to try the R91CP IMO.

From that IGN footage it looks like they've made the off-road racing a bit closer to how it was in the first Horizon game. It seems like it's a lot easier to tell where you're supposed to go while racing and it looks like the AI actually has to go through checkpoints properly now. Hopefully all the off-road races are like that since that was my only real complaint with FH2.
