Yeah, it's the Simpsons and it's supposed to be ridiculous and unrealistic. But current Homer has hardly any good traits and he's long since veered from "misguided but well-meaning" to "cruel asshole."

Technically, Bart will be getting several new teachers this next season. That's going to be the new "plug a guest star" for an easy storyline role.
Willem Dafoe will be voicing one of Bart's teachers in an episode that airs in November.

Season 25 was the season of trippy ass couch gags.
The last two decent episodes of the marathon start shortly. Heck, even the finale isn't terrible. It's just not particularly memorable.

Incidentally, I LOATHE Days of Future Future. I hope to never watch that episode again.
