i can't settle on a clear ordering this year -- it's just going to be a list of games i liked. portal is definitely my goty, anyway, for reasons i elaborated on elsewhere. i've started playing mass effect, and it's good...but i'm not yet sure how good, so i'll have to leave it out. it probably merits a spot on this list.

I should note that Galaxy is probably my favorite game of all time, but there is no way in hell I could put any single game over the Orange Box. I still don't agree with allowing it for GOTY, as I feel that is both unfair to every other game and will draw attention away from the individual accomplishments present within the Orange Box, but if the decision is to count it as one, then so be it. I will vote accordingly.

1 - Unreal Tournament 3 [PC] Because of the endless options to create custom stuff.(eventhough i'm editing more than i'm actualy playing the game ...)
2 - Bioshock [PC] Best storyline in years, awesome audio dialogue, brilliant enviroments.
3 - Colin McRae : Dirt [PC] It's just awesome doing a Hill Climb in a 1500 HP Celica, in a custom made chair with the perfect steering wheel, gearshift and pedals.
4 - Super Mario galaxy [Wii] Eventhough i've put down the controller for the moment, while i'm busy doing other things, i totaly see where this going after collecting 24 stars....
Simply awesome! I can see this being Game of the Year for most people.
5 - World In conflict [PC] Calling in airsupport? Awesome!!!!! Best strategy game i've played in years, and i haven't even played it online yet.
6 - Endless Ocean [Wii] Realy relaxing and adictive. Fish are cool. Simple as that.

I didn't play many games earlier in the year, so I still need to play Assassin's Creed, COD4, the rest of Orange Box (I own HL2 and EP1 on PC), some other assorted 360 games, and buy a Wii to play Metroid and SMG (hopefully in Jan, when things might die down).

That said, my list this year is short, and I based it on how much I can see myself going back and playing the various games on the list after beating them the first time. That's really the barometer test for me.
