NeoGAF E3 2016 Voting Results Thread

This is a barometer of hands-off anticipation months before many of these games release.
They are done mostly by people that are hands-off and are not attending E3.

837 ballots were counted and 136 different games were mentioned.

The scoring goes as follows: (Total mentions / Total points / #1 votes only)

Unsurprising top 3, didn't expect Spiderman, Detroit and South Park to be that high though.

I am surprised and a little disappointed by how high Detroit is. I guess people are falling for the David Cage rope-a-dope once again.

Wow, Horizon and Zelda were a lot closer than I expected. I thought for sure the latter would win it by a wide margin. The list looks great, and my top three games are the same.

What do you mean? Heavy Rain was a great experience and this looks to be an even bigger improvement on that formula with the added bonus of co-writers.

Zelda is fucking amazing. The fact they showed like eight hours of footage, full of surprises from start to finish (with new stuff still being discovered), and it was just 1 percent of the overall game is incredible.

In terms of points HZ and Zelda are pretty much neck and neck, well done GG, almost Game of E3 two years in a row (nothing taken away from Zelda though, which looks great, and obviously benefits from Nintendo fans thirst).

Was a great E3 all around, 2016 and particularly 2017 look like they're going to be amazing.

edit: wow, looking at that top 11: 8x PS4 exclusives, 9 if you count RE7's PSVR exclusive mode. I guess Sony's E3 was Dreams 2.0 indeed.

I have made peace with the fact that some people just like David Cage stuff.

I don't understand it and never will. It's just a thing that happens and no amount of "He actively lies to you to make the twists work" overrides the things they like. Preferences are preferences.

14th place is far too low for you Kat. You deserved better.

The E3 trailer vividly recalled Heavy Rain, a game that a lot of people love. It's not hard to figure out.

I'd actually say Horizon benefited from Nintendo showing only one game, since most Nintendo fans wound up listing Horizon higher rather than another Nintendo game.

If you can keep up with Zelda on GAF, you are doing a pretty great job.

And I'd say it's telling how great the game looks that it nearly placed 1st two years in a row. /avatarquote

You forget: there is nothing in the world that Zelda fans hate more than Zelda.

Man, you gotta play David Cage games with a friend, girlfriend, etc. I've gone through Heavy Rain three times this way and it was amazing each time.

I have fond memories laughing our asses off trying to not walk into Ethan's doorwall, or dodging the chicken-chucker in the market. :)

Seriously looking forward to Detroit!

Spending the first five minutes of the game trying not to steer Ethan into the doorwall = fond gaming memories!

I have gone through Heavy Rain in several forms at this point - alone, with friends, via LPs that other people have done or LPs I have done myself. I have found it an interminable experience every single time.

It is somehow an even worse game knowing who the murderer is.

Yep highlights of beyond were when my girlfriend flung a chair into the birthday girl and then proceeded to get little ellen page stuck in a door.

Congrats to the winners and especially Nintendo! Who would have thought. The company who technically had the less presence at this year's E3 was the one who gave the most surprises with this new Zelda. Winning game of the show awards and all that jazz. Now it makes sense why they made Zelda the only playable game on the showfloor. Freaking Nintendo. They could dissapoint us 90% of the time but when they are in a good mood, they can still impress the masses and deliver big time.

Spider-Man is high on the list?!?! Why?!?!? How?!??! People really think this game gonna end up special??? I'm sorry but I don't see it happening... maybe I'll eat my words.

It says a lot about Horizon to come that close to clinching the top spot.

It says a lot about Zelda to come out Game of the Show and a media blowout unlike any other game at E3.

It was a good E3 ^_^

Why not? It's a known developer who released a very good open world game just a few years ago and appears to be leveraging a lot of the same design mentalities with their awesome visual tech for a license people like.

That's a lot of #1 votes for Zelda.

Also cool to see so much excitement for Spiderman. Really hoping it turns out good.
