I mean I'd say I'm on the same team as Arin and Dan about these stuff...but Breitbart? Really Jon?

It's really sad, I used to watch him when his channel just started and he was legit funny. Just a dumb guy talking about games. Now that his production value went up by a lot and he seems to have "matured" his style of humor... I don't find his videos to be that enjoyable anymore. I'm glad I still have PBG which pretty much borrowed his style from Jon at first but didn't actually go insane trying to be Notch #2.

Dan is really a blessing for us and more importantly, for Arin. Not because Arin would give up to Jon's pressure, Arin is actually a lot more open minded than people think, it's just that he seemed like he felt really uncomfortable with a lot of stuff Jon did. Maybe GameGrumps would have just... ended after some time, who knows.

I think that sounds a little condescending, Ross is also in the same boat as Oney and they act pretty much the same. I'm pretty sure they just don't agree with that, but they don't seem the type of people to go on an actual crusade against "SJWs"

The thing with his friend is that it's easy to forget that you're broadcasting your talk with your friends to hundreds of people. I don't think Dan and Arin are advocates of PC culture either, they're just not offensive for the sake of being offensive, something that Jon does.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zach, Oney, Stamper or Spazkid were into alt-right shit. Jon was also pretty shitty with GamerGate stuff and argued with Tim Schaefer about women objectification in games :/

I didn't mean it in a condescending way. Just an observation when it comes to how they present themselves in public. Modern Arin for the most part seems to try and avoid controversy and any kind of hateful language even as a joke. While not necessarily being some major advocate of PC or anything, he has publicly taken the side of what the other side would call "dirty SJWs". Him siding with and following some of the early targets of Gamergate got him a ton of flak from those people. Meanwhile, you got Chris with some incredibly unflattering drawings of Brianna Wu in his Revolution 60 thumbnails while consistently making fun of her in the playthrough itself.

I think behind closed doors Dan and Arin are just as raunchy and into mean-spirited jokes as the rest of their friends, but maybe not to the same extent.

Stamper seems so far removed from the political spectrum that he legit doesn't care. I remember one Sleepycast episode where he said he didn't know the vice president's name.

Same with Cory, though that's more because the guy's a lunatic (and also puts his full focus into his game/porn work).

Zach is... well yeah, he can get kind of alt-rightish. Though his whole role in that Jon Breitbart controversy seemed to be "who cares where it's published as long as the point is good". He sort of strikes me as a "both sides suck no matter what" guy rather than full-on alt-right.

Yeah I guess I can't really vouch in for Oney, I honestly was never really into his stuff, too edgy for me I guess. But, while I also do think that Brianna's game is (unfortunately) really garbage, from what (little) I saw of Oney's playthrough of it... he seemed actually really mild in commentary. He actually did seem like he didn't want to be outright super offensive like usual. I guess the drawing's kinda unnecessary, but it's not like he makes flattering drawings of anyone ahahaha.

About GamerGate stuff though, I think that's around the time I started to see Jon in a different light, yeah. I wasn't aware of Arin siding with early targets though, and it just makes me love him even more. I was watching his more emotional Megaman X playthroughs and I honestly think Arin is just too pure for this world.

Yeah.

I remember back when jon left GG, people were blaming arin and suzy for selling out or w/e, and I always thought that was stupid. So many people took 'jons side'(Whatever that was) and that he was pushed out(Since it was so abrupt) and there was just so much shitting on GG from all sides in.

And like...hearing Arin talk in Megaman X, a flow of consciousness, and over the years, I've come to the conclusion that Jon leaving was Jons fault more or less. I can't help but of all the shit arin, suzy, and GG in general got from Jon leaving, and it really was unjustified. I can't see Arin doing something like that.

I never hardly ever accuse anyone of "selling out" as I find those accusations sometimes lack a grip on the reality of finances. I also think Jon made some good points in that article actually, but his complete failure to recognise the danger (or is it agreement?) of his choice of outlet is pretty damning. He also actively seems to seek out hardcore SJW's on twitter on purpose sometimes.

For what it's worth, Suzy briefly called out Gamergate in an older episode of Steam Train and Brian and Holly have tweeted some pretty progressive things in the wake of the election. Arin and Dan don't only surround themselves with "sketchy" people.

Dan plays Space Quest III all by himself! It's an hour long! And the next episode is probably gonna be an hour too tomorrow. I totally thought they'd break it up like they did Arin. Guess they have a lot on their plate to fill in time.

(Why does the audio sound like he's in a small room with no padding?)

Sad thing is they said "maybe we'll stream ourselves unlocking it at some point" then never got around to it. This was before their Undertale finale stream was even an idea. (Since Undertale didn't exist yet) I guess they'll never do it now. If I remember, they had to get all the flags, stars and stamps in a bunch of levels. I would have loved to chill and watch them stream a few hours of cleanup, then a final stream where they all take chances trying to beat Champion's Road and the accompanying Captain Toad level and Boss Rush.

I'm surprisingly sad about this. Pretty much the only time I actually like Ross is when he's doing old-school adventure games with Danny. Makes me kind of sad that they aren't doing SQ3 together.

That being said, I will never say no to more Danny, because as Breezy pointed out, Dan is the best.

They're almost done with Wand of Gamelon. Tomorrow or the next day should be the finale, depending on how much they struggle with this last dungeon. (It's actually pretty brutal, even beyond how awful the controls are.)

Man, I hope they do Faces of Evil. I know they probably won't for quite a while, but I'm sure they'll put Arin through it eventually.

I agree, but in one of the episodes Arin was surprised that there was a third CDI game, so I doubt they have Zelda's Adventure. Hopefully someone sends it to them.

I didn't know PB & Jeff were playing FoE. I'll check that out.

They're doing FoE and also Super Mario World Randomized. (I really love all these randomized games coming out now.) ProJared did both LTTP randomized and LoZ randomized a little bit ago. And the Beard Bros are currently doing LTTP randomized as one of their 4 games.

Arin also once tweeted about Feminist Frequency akin to "the response to this shows that this type of criticism is super needed". Cue a litany of horrible answers by assholes. That was a long time ago, around when goobergate started to pick up, but has stuck in my mind.

He may not exactly be outspoken on political issues, but I'm pretty sure he's a fundamentally good guy.

EarthBound was geting the same exact number of views as that stupid shitty DragonBall game they played for weeks. It got plenty of views.

Ross and Barry were having plenty of fun. I wish they didn't just go radio silent on it and would at least give some status update about its fate.

There are a lot of people on Twitter that are distraught about it not coming back and them not even saying a word about it. Even a simple "yes it'll be back, no we don't know when" or a "no, we are probably not going back to it". People are even tweeting at Barry and Ross themselves. Neither of them have said a word.

Started playing through TTYD yesterday, as I also started Ocarina of Time around the time they did as well (albeit the 3DS version on Master Quest).

They really need to make the episodes longer.
