I did find the racing etiquette video in GT Sport pretty funny.

They kept emphasising how sportsmanship is all about trying to not look bad. Of course there are a couple lines about not ruining the races for other people or fairness or whatever but the main takeaway is about not looking bad and bringing shame upon yourself.

It's a Japanese game after all.

How car porny is it?

The photo mode sure makes the cars look incredible. Pretty much like a real life image.

You can pick Akihabara as a background and there’s a Steins;Gate poster on a building.

Are there people reading poems while a camera is focusing on a car opening its doors.

Having Peter Brown around is always a good time! Love whenever he's on the Bombcast.

I'll be playing it this weekend. Data West played it and mentioned that the first half is strong and the second half is eh IIRC. You have to know what you're getting into though since it's a hide and seek horror game which is not my kind of game but I only got it for the cyberpunk vibes and Rutger Hauer.

Oh, that sounds like a bit of a bummer. I thought those sections where only a tiny part of the game but if they're a larger part then maybe I'll hold off for now.

GT Sport seems like it might be something much better in a year or two of updates.

It does seem like the kinda crazy only Polyphony Digital can make. Such a weird, backwards at times studio.

But also so intricate and crazy in a way only they can be with that kind of budget they get. That's why I find this so fascinating. How will the general consumer react? GT is a massive franchise. Everything but massive sales numbers would be disappointing. And then they release this?

This is going to be interesting.

I am curious to see if the people who purchased GT Sport now are willing play along with its esports take after November. It needs them for any of it to work.

And I’m not so sure this is particularly unique or something only they can make. It’s iRacing on console.

At a quick glance I thought that it is the Ubisoft logo, haha.

Man, that NT talk was pretty awesome. I don't have a ton of SNES carts, but the tech behind getting these things up and running is real interesting.

The Super Nt release is going to be a good reason to make another SNES stream. Their talk on it in the bombcast made me kinda want one. 😅

FPGA is some really interesting technology that I have no idea how it works. All I know it's that I have a headphone amp/DAC built using FPGA (where the top of the line DAC from the same manufacturer going for 10k using FPGA also) and it can also emulate snes games?

An FPGA is basically a programmable CPU, so you tell it what instruction set to use and everything. So instead of emulators, which run the code of a SNES game by running on top of the instruction set of the CPU, the FPGA CPU is programmed to actually be the SNES CPU and sound chip and do everything with out having to translate.

So is today a WWE 2K18 playdate or just wrestling themed in general?

If it's WWE 2k18, I hope the do a 6 man online natch with the community because i'll tell them how to tally break it.

As someone who didn't have a PS3 but has a PS4, GT moving to an online focused thing is incredibly disappointing. Was looking forward to a proper GT game.

A online focused GT with a cut down number of cars and tracks would have made sense as a launch game.

Its kinda crazy it's been 4 years since the last game. I wonder if this is PDs onlu game for this gen.

Also yeah. I kinda want a Super NT and a flash cart.

Maybe they'll release seasons with new cars and tracks.

Dan not even trying to understand DnD almost made be snap.

I don’t think he wasn’t trying to understand? I just think he had no context for it and never had it explained to him well.

DnD is really overwhelming looking from the outside, particularly if you expect a game to have clear rules and structure when the answer is “the GM will tell you what to care about from this arcane rulebook”. It’s not really surprising to me that someone who’s had no other experience with tabletop than a confusing game of DnD would be confused by that or there being no way to “win”.

Its obviously gonna get a bunch of updates and DLC.

The main reason I am staying away from it is because we have no idea what form that is taking and its upper East to ruin a GaaS with a bad DLC plan so don't want to get invested until I see how it goes.

Sounds like that's the plan actually and it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Take a drink every time FPGA is said.

GT/ analog talk is so bad

I disagree

hearing Peter and Jeff mark out about old games whether it be the software or hardware is a treat.

The only part that seemed lame was them shitting on the culture aspect of GT that has been there for a while.

I'm not salty because I took the spoiler warning and avoided it. :p

I still don't get the salt from that since

1. A Warning was given
2. The thing he talked about isn't really a spoiler and only becomes one once the proper context is added.
3. The people who know the context getting all pissy about it and essentially giving away the context.

*shrug*

A videogame.

stupid jealous.

re: Super NT, I'm getting one. I was interested in the NT mini but the price of entry was just too much. I've been looking for the best legal way to collect and play a couple dozen SNES carts I grew up with (plus the chance to explore the library myself) and this thing is just the perfect fit. I like the idea of taking off a year of buying only new games and just focusing on the SNES era.

TBF going back to it now I feel like it would be a little bit diminished if you go into the game looking out for it?

I'm usually not one to care about spoilers too much though so I dunno how I would feel if I did go into it looking out for it.

I mean, people freaked out when Brad "spoiled" the ending of Dead Island in the QL for the DLC. I don't know anybody who gave a single shit about the highly predictable story in Dead Island.
This is at least somewhat understandable. Not that I care.

A videogame.

That doesn't look like a videogame
Were are the lootboxes? And the XP?
I call bullshit
