Sony putting their games on GOG is maybe the most unexpected thing about their PC ports. Good shit.
Wait, what? (o_O)

That's not the first time they're doing that. Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves are there as well.

That’s pretty great and good get for GoG. Personally I already have Sony enough money for GoW though between PS4 and Steam copies, lol.

Every game published on those platforms has DRM injected into the game files. Uninstall steam and try running a steam game, the exe will hook into steam_api64.dll to launch and verify with steam :lollipop_confused: Epic does the same with different libraries.

Meh - that's not actual DRM. Hence the games always being cracked day 1. It's disingenuous to act like the games are only just now "DRM free".

PC users get PlayStation games DRM-free, but PlayStation users get PlayStation games locked to an account that isn’t even theirs.

Makes all the sense in the world.

It does. You think they’re going to let console users make copies of games and then resell the discs? Even more devastating would be people buying used copies, making duplicates and refunding them.

A nice drop here as we have God of War appear on GOG and is 50% off for the next two weeks! Always good to see Sony support DRM Free versions of their PC titles.

As if those GOG DRM-free files aren’t going straight to torrent sites. PC, the cradle of piracy.

Huh? Do Playstation games not come on physical disc anymore?

GoG is awesome. I wish more developers released their games there. CDPR doing God's work bringing so many classic games back to the forefront. Sony should port God of War Collection and Gow 3 over to PC as well. Classic GoW still rocks!

Never purchased anything from GoG. How does that work, does this require you to keep a backup copy of the files at all times? Or do you still have a library that you can re-download things from?

You have a library to download stuff from just like steam. Main differences are:
>Downloaded/Installed games will always work regardless of you being logged into their launcher (GOG Galaxy). This is the case for some steam games too.
>You can download game installers separately, not just from the launcher but also directly from their website (while logged into your account naturally). Meaning, you can play GOG games without any form of middleware.

It’s like Steam in that you have your library shown in thumbnail format. Just Download and play.
