Heroes of the Storm |OT3| Chromiehounds

Valeera seems totally where she should be to me, I dunno. The code for Varian on the other hand should be mysteriously deleted permanently and for all time

Lucio seems pretty ridiculous in raw numbers but I'm not sure about the overall impact he's having. Had a game last night where ours outhealed me by double by the end of the game. Of course it was also a stomp and there wasn't a lot for me to do since our team wasn't really hurting

HORSEPANTS dropping some napkin math on why Lucio's early game heals suck but he becomes a beast late game for the same reason. He's also recommending people take the ult that isn't in Overwatch due to the added second of Amp It Up.

More than anything in that post, however, the most important thing is the bit about speed boosting your allies out (should they keep moving) providing greater ROI than healing them as they try to get out. Caught myself making the heal them out mistake a few times when speed boost + healing after would've been a smarter play.

But it's not in Overwatch, how can it be any good? Sounds like some bullshit to me.

Blizz starting a trend of the ult that didn't exist in Overwatch being considered the better one.

If it was so good, it'd be in Overwatch. L2P nerd.

I fucking love Reverse Amp.

Hardest part about playing Lucio is remembering the HotS hotkeys. I kept pressing shift for Crossfade.

i feel like it'd be worthwhile to switch up the hotkeys if you don't use shift-queue
the weird thing would be not right clicking for the knockback

Yep. That will take some time.

I got him to level 7 and I still kept doing it. I've always been really bad about changing hotkeys and taking forever to learn new ones in games like WoW so yeah, I'll be pressing shift for a while.

Yep, did that a bunch too. At least Amp is still E.

I'm fine with the knockback, probably because it's mechanically too different since I don't use quick cast, so I'm not aiming before casting like in OW. Crossfade is literally the same thing, with the same music in the background.

I thought when I got 10 yesterday that was a lot.

I think it depends on the game, I played Murky yesterday and everyone just focused the Puffer down, I had a lot of trouble getting stacks.

I've had a few of those, but inevitably you'll end up on your own at certain points and get some stacks. It's definitely a fluctuating value, but the other options just aren't as good. I usually get 5-7 camps at least.

yeah i didnt realize it was 30s cd, that's nuts
dunno if it's op but it looks strong for sure, def shouldnt be on such a low cd

Can't use that ult missing is too embarrassing. Honestly though it's more that going into humanform hurts a lot mid combat

It instantly resets your E now, so you can dive in immediately as worgen. Its insanely powerful, and if you miss it consistently then you really ought to work on your aim.

Gonna have to play around some more with it and I've just gotten back into the jive with Go for the Throat. It is a looooong CD tho.
Going into worgen form just has so many benefits right now, the 10 armor was such a game changer. Every time you live with a sliver of health* you'd be dead with old Greymane.

*only applies after having taking most of the damage in worgen form

How are you supposed to land the bullet and the splash on the same squishy? Bullet gonna be a real tankbuster.

Curious what do you take at 20? I usually take human splash for the waveclear, worgen cleave only against multiple tanks.

Bullet first, then instantly throw ur cocktail at a minion or hero something in front of your kill target, then you E in and auto attack and then razor swipe. Might take you a couple minutes in try mode to get it down, but its easy and ridiculous. This takes all of 1 or 2 seconds max to delete their entire health bar.

I wonder the feasibility of that move in actual games. The bullet damages the first thing it hits and the cocktail damages the first thing it hits much less and E has a short range.

I don't doubt it's possible though. Q > E > Q > R > E > Q with go for the throat has more chase potential OTOH.

Bullet damages the first hero it hits, not thing. And the cocktail bursts and spreads out after it hits its target, so what's important to consider here is that you're not actually trying to hit the kill target with the cocktail itself, but with the spread afterwards. So its super easy to hit, aim for a minion in front of your target. Also, take the E range talent at 13, it gives E the exact same range as his Bullet.

Here's the build McIntyre was using. I might still recommend taking blunderbuss at 20, but I'm really not sure on that one yet.

Oh my bad, yeah totally gonna delete any squishy that's anywhere close to a minion wave and in range. I've been taking darkflight a bunch already because of all the valeeras.
I wish they'd kept the engage of the old bullet heroic that allowed you to jump to the target hit. They could have done a "you get a free go for the threat to the target hit" as the heroic upgrade.

I still prefer wolfheart over the extra range on Q overall, I've been taking it less since once again Valeera makes me want to play safer. So many Valeeras in QM... and scum that duo queues as varian valeera.

The re-engage w/ worgen form is basically still there if you have the level 13 talent. R > E is no different than R > R.

Teams are usually so spread out in team fights at level 20 that you can't get a ton of value with the worgen cleave upgrade at 20. I much prefer the splash on his ranged AA for insane poke and wave clear. I think his bullet upgrade might be worth exploring though, it could be stupid if you manage to hit 3+ heroes and snowball the game winning teamfight.

The return of the Sea God has made solo queue infinitely more enjoyable. Some heroes are just great for it, and Murky is one.

I got the same kind of enjoyment out of Samuro, Xul, old mage Zeratul, Living the Dream Murky, most every incarnation of Zagara, and Leoric before the big changes last winter that kind of wrecked him for a long time.

I feel like the game kind of has to have a couple of these at any given time because of just how many solo queue players there are. I know specialists in general kind of fit that bill, and I've had runs with most of them (except Gazlowe), but a little variety is always good.

No, that's not what I said.

The game isn't more enjoyable because he's OP, it's more enjoyable because he's usable again without 2/3rds of the roster countering him.

Hopefully when they nerf him they leave some semblance of that usefulness so he can at least go back to his pre-everyone having Cleanse days, and not just be a mindless split-pusher who can't contribute meaningfully in any other way thanks to one bad ult, one easily countered ult, and a W that was fodder.

Murky's not just more obnoxious in teamfights, there's also a lot of Alpha-style zerg pushers picking fishy deal/endless march, cheesing lanes and merc camps. I don't know why they felt the need to try and make a joke character valid again.

Yeah saw it on twitter. No clue how to watch streams n facebook though. At least on my phone, it just opened their facebook page.

Inverum, Halorin, Kaeyoh and one other guy are casting. I wonder what Dunktrain's doing, at Blizzcon he was observing IIRC.

He shouldn't ever really be viable. Sorry, but he's a character whose theme is 'piss off your opponent and grind them down'. It sucks in a fundamental, unfun, unfair way. They should leave him as being a joke character.

You could say the same about Abathur, Vikings and Hammer (that's just me, I hate Hammer) and maybe more for other people. Abathur and Vikings break how the game is played much more fundamentally than murky does and the purpose of the team becomes to stall as long as possible more than winning an objective.

No, not really. None of them have the same theme. Just because heroes want to stall the game isn't necessarily bad - the game ends late game heroes who want to get to the end game.

My point is that murky's 'fantasy' is *literally* pissing you off. He's a troll character. He's unkillable and grinds you down, no matter what you do he'll be back to kill you. There has never been a point in the game where he has both been viable and fun, because what he fundamentally wants to do is the essence of unfun for those facing him. An unkillable hero with an invulnerablity shield, great split pushing power and (now) deadly fighting skills is a bad idea.

I love hots alternate heroes. I think the game is better off with them - except murky. In all my group, I don't know a single person who thinks he should be a viable pick - even the folks who enjoy playing him.

Yes I'd prefer Murky not being a viable pick as well, same with Chromie, but I love that he's there in the first place.
Abathur at his prime was all about annoying the shit out of you with the slow and whittling you down with the mines build.

There should be a balance where Murky can break a game open like Aba and Vikings do.

I think he'd be better if he didn't have absolutely stupid split pushing power. You *have* to leave someone to babysit him otherwise he'll push really, really fast. But whoever you send will end up dying because one on one he will just grind them down over time. Plus of course now he is capturing every merc camp in the game when he's doing it.

Also what the hell were they thinking wth fish tank? I mean really?

(Does anyone know if the stacking slow at 7 stacks with the slow from slime as well?)

He wasn't though. His win rate with the old murky was never below 40%, and if I remember rightly it hovered around 45%. That's fine for a joke hero like him. It was never 'gg' if you had a murky, and I've definitely had games where he did great and practically carried us.

Also, blizzard really doesn't want a viable murky at the pro level. I rewatched the classic C9 murky match from blizzcon, and whilst it's hilarious to watch the draft, the actual match itself is *terrible*. As a spectator experience, watching a team by ground down in that way is definitely not good.
