I am loving all the unveiled unlocks so far for hokkaido. I can't honestly see why I would take in a non-lethal weapon since I can just pick one up in level (same as the combat knife or the machete), but it's cool to have for weapon specific contracts.

I hope it causes less of a commotion than the baton, which happens to go detected most of the time even during melee takedowns.

I love how they're just shoving in any Japanese thing they can think of even though there's no way this stuff would be lying around a hospital.

Predicted challenges:

+Kill a target with poisoned sushi
+Kill a target with a shuriken while disguised as a ninja
+Run over a target with a shinkansen
+Kill a target in the sumo ring
+Choke a target to death with a kimono belt

the biggest reason is probably so you can start out in disguise with a non lethal weapon so you dont need to waste time searching for it, like at the auction for example

then again 90% of unlocks are only good for specific challenges which is fine because you wouldnt want to make anything so good you need to take it every time

Well, they are unlocks. So they aren't lying around a hospital, Agent 47 just brought some stuff from his shopping spree in Tokyo :p

I never knew I wanted a challenge so badly. :D

Man, I botched the last Elusive so bad. It was so easy too :/

Had everything planned out but got hasty and spotted by a guard. Gunned down before I could get away.

Doing the last Elusive the target had a conversation with a guard where it seemed like the guard had talked to the target before. For a while I thought maybe they had made it more challenging by having the obvious target not be the real target (you know, since he was an identity thief and all), but it seemed to only be a comment on the looping nature of the target's movements. Also sad that the escort didn't have any hidden agenda once the target had left her.

So far the only running over anybody has done in this game was running over that one guy in Sapienza when you get into the escape car.

Which tells us that it's clearly possible in the current engine! But we might have to wait for season 2 for IO to figure out how to implement drivable vehicles.

Can't be an accident that we keep seeing forklifts everywhere.

I find the baton really handy when starting in a different start point but still with the suit.

Like the roof in Marrakech for example, easily and quickly KO the soldiers on the roof.

I was on vacation so I've been catching up on episodes 3 to 5. I've had opportunity info. and instinct turned off since the beginning but I'm sorta reconsidering the former.

Since the games been out a while, what do people feel are the best settings for the game not holding your hand but at the same time, information isn't lost if I turn the setting off?

e.g. If disabling opportunities gets rid of info that I couldn't glean otherwise from actually listening to conversations and so on.

Disabling opportunities turns off Diana's commentary, which I like to at least hear once.

I turn off opportunities until I have an idea of what they all are, which doesn't take long. Then I set them to minimal.

I usually do my first couple of playthroughs blind- using any opportunities I may have overheard/discovered naturally and trying them out on my own.

After I feel like I got all I could- I switch to minimal to do everything else.

The conversations are enough to know more or less what to do. Be sure to read intel though.

Looks like it's just the gunpowder bag from Sapienza, but I like being able to drop an explosive without everyone spiking suspicion on me.

Looks like somebody wrapped some parchment around a fat propane tank. I'd call that suspicious.

Wait, is this basically the fire extinguisher unlock?

Also, lots of content today. A new escalation for A Gilded Cage is up.

The Himmapan Horror challenge pack is also up. For all challenges you must allow all bodies to be found, for a change.

You can unlock a second lethal poison syringe from this.

Thanks for the replies! I tried Colarado with minimal opportunities and I felt that it didn't add anything that I couldn't otherwise have figured out.

Guess it's sticking to being turned off.

by unsuspicious (not a word) when placed do they mean people will ignore it if they see it?

because people kept picking up the duck when I was trying to set up some kills so this would be nice for that

So basically an equippable from the start fire extinguisher.

...which is actually one of the most OP items in the game. Stealth item in hand and in ground, placeable by the user, provoke an explosion that are considered accident kills...

Not sure if this counts as an accident.

As a bit of trivia, you can actually place this in a place where the target smokes, and it will explode when he throws the cigarrete away.

Is it safe to say that no one will use this if it's not an accident?

Right now explosion kills are either "explosive device" or "accident (explosion)". It's hard to mentally justify a random bag exploding as an "accident", but then it doesn't seem like it can be categorized as a "device" at all.

It's not suspicious, that's why people will use it.
The fire extinguisher is just too strong, it's silly.

ICE FUCKING COLD

Killed the elusive target in the least elaborate way possible lol. Tried to get him with the exploding phone, but a nearby guard game to pick it up instead as the guy walked back into the auction hall. Couldn't grab the phone in time, but the explosion distracted everybody so I just threw scissors at the back of his head and ran away lol

I finally got around to playing through this game and it is fantastic! I've made it through the main contracts for each map that's been released so far and now am onto replaying them while trying new opportunities.

I've also been messing around with escalation missions and I think they are actually pretty cool! There are a whole lot of them and I like they take me to areas of the maps that I may not have had a reason to really use before.

And I've done a few elusive missions, which I find really tense knowing that you only have one shot at them. This game is fantastic and I'm looking forward to the Hokkaido map in a few days.

Does anybody know if we're getting a season 2 of Hitman? This game has done really well for them hasn't it? I actually think the episodic releasing of maps really works for this game.

They've said the game has surpassed their own expectations, but I'm not sure if that's sincerity for the type of release or codeword PR damage control.

The fact they've not hidden the fact this is Season One all but assures Two is planned. Three will likely depend on overall sales.

I was thinking that it'd be cool for them to one time release an elusive on a new map the day it comes out. Going straight into an elusive on a map you don't know at all would be pretty exciting.

That's a fantastic idea in my opinion. Depends how long they leave the elusive available. If it's for a week or so most players would have a good idea of the map.

^ I think I know the actual trick here (from The Granville Curiosity), I just colossally misjudge the sound range of the silenced shotgun. Which is why I look for any excuse to use it!

That's the thing, then you'd have to cram learning the level and the elusive into a week. Most people would feel unreasonably rushed.

If you really want people to fly by the seat of the pants... What if there were a level that's only used for elusive targets? So you couldn't play it in any other game mode.

Probably not cost-effective in terms of making content, but the tension of every single run would be off the charts.
