I'm leaning towards bad dog, though absolutely adorable.

Good dog, bad owner, hopefully the bike thief gets his just deserts down the road.

I hate clips like this, the dog bolts at the end and there's nothing to indicate he didn't get lost, or explain where the owner was at the time, or why the garage was open like that to begin with.

Good dog -- although not a very good guard dog. Some retrievers (I think that's the breed) are so friendly with people, no one is a stranger. They'll be happy to see you, even if you're a crook. This crook had a good attitude -- he liked dogs, and the dog picked up on that.

Good dog, had he attacked the person, even though he was a thief, he could have sued the family for damages and potentially have had to been put down.

Nobody gets a dog like that and expects it to be a guard dog. They get them because they will never hurt their kids or visitors.
