Just visualizing a Bond film by Spielberg in my minds eye makes me all kinds of warm and fuzzy inside. That would be awesome.

Although I just dont think Daniel Craig would work as Bond under Spielberg's direction.

Erm, he only puts in his best performance under Spielberg in Munich. He's also just shot Tintin under Spielberg.

I hope Christopher Nolan directs a Bond film.

Thank all the gods in heaven that this will never happen. Inception being "his Bond movie" was damning evidence that he doesn't understand Bond and should never be let within a thousand miles of Bond.

But like I said, it will never happen for a variety of reasons, chief among them Nolan's relationship with WB and Broccoli/Wilson's micro-management of the movies.

so Jon Favreau then?

Thankfully, we're saved from that disaster by his American heritage!

Aside from Martin Campbell, look at the recent Bond directors:

TND - Roger Spottiswoode
TWINE - Michael Apted
DAD - Lee Tamahori
QOS - Marc Forster
Bond 23 - Sam Mendes

Nobody was putting money on any of these guys landing the gig. I suspect that trend won't end any time soon.

I could see someone like Danny Boyle being offered it though. I have a sneaking suspicion that Broccoli/Wilson desperately want to produce a Bond movie that gets some Oscar love. I think its why they hired Forster and now Mendes/Deakins/Logan.

A Matthew Vaughn directed Bond wouldn't surprise me, though i guess the producers wouldn't view him as highbrow enough, particularly after Mendes and Forster.

They'd be delusional if they genuinely believed that could happen, even with talent like Mendes involved.

I don't care who directs, just so long as we get our five Craig movies and then Fassbender as his replacement.
A non-UK James Bond?

I think it'd be amazing if the next Bond film didn't have any action sequences
EXCEPT for a scene of Bond surfing down an ice tsunami

We've had two already.
I forgot Lazenby was Australian. Who's the other one? And don't say Connery cause that's part of the UK.

Is there a rule that Americans can't direct Bond films (serious question)?

A Charlie Chaplin his prime directed Bond film sounds ridiculous AND awesome.

An unwritten rule, yes. Every Bond director has been European.

Eh? Not true. Martin Campbell and Lee Tamahori were born and raised (as well as started their careers) in New Zealand! If NZ was part of Europe, I'd be fucking moving there.

I think you probably meant that every Bond director has been part of the British Commonwealth (Australia, UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada).

Marc Forster is the first and only Bond director who wasn't part of the british commonwealth (he's german/swiss). He's the first European bond director, basically.

Further to this, Roger Spottiswood (TND) is Canadian - again, part of the British Commonwealth.

Really?

Oh.

I still think QoS had one of the best openers to a Bond film.

Sorry, I should have said all of them come from former British colonies still in the Commonwealth or European. Point being, not American.

Terence Young - British
Guy Hamilton - French
Lewis Gilbert - British
Peter Hunt - British
John Glen - British
Martin Campbell - Kiwi
Roger Spottiswoode - Canadian
Michael Apted - British
Lee Tamahori - Kiwi
Marc Forster - Swiss
Sam Mendes - British

Apologies. I hadn't seen Munich.

Maybe it's just my hate for Craig as Bond. It just doesn't work for me. Perhaps its the direction?

Well I think you have to be crazy to hate Craig as Bond in either of the past two films.

But either way you should probably check out Munich.

I see Moneypenny is back, how about Q? That's the last thing missing to return the franchise to glory.
I don't see the point. Bond will just have his trusty iPod touch with him at all times.

We might have a small delay if this shit isn't sorted out.

Pravesh Sahni of India Take One Productions, which would look after any Indian leg of the Bond 23shoot, told The Times of India, "This could be one of the biggest Hollywood movies shot in our country."

"Trains are the backbone of the film. We'll pay for the shooting and also mention Indian Railways in the credit line."

"The shooting was supposed to happen in October-November. Now, we've postponed it to January-February. For the past three months, we've been trying to get things in order. The film has Daniel Craig doing stunts on a freight train."

"While the Indian Railways has given us permission to shoot, I need to meet someone and explain how important it is for us to block two tracks for eight hours a day over five to six days. For the past 15 days, I've been trying to get someone to hear me out."

"South African authorities are waiting to provide everything that is required to support this movie. If we can't get this cooperation from India, the film will no longer be shot here."

Wow! I'm mind blown honestly.

For months I had tried accesing MI6.co.uk, but it redirected me to CommanderBond.com, so I thought they relaunched or fusioned with another site. Now I see they just got a new URL. Anyone knows what the reason was behind this?

It's really hard to go wrong with trains in action movies, especially in a Bond film where they're great high class social locales too.

Back when I was a regular poster on mi6forums, there was always an issue with bandwidth behind the scenes. Looks like the mi6.co.uk website is up, but they are now using cbnet's forums.
