No, just having a general understanding of sexism given the otaku exaggerated mascot they chose.
It's a pretty mild albeit lame attempt at attracting attention from younger folk. Like those nude firemen and rugby calendars. Unfortunately in this case they didn't seem to get the blessing of the divers.

Sudden realization that the anime girl decal is a representation of the pilot

Not quite

The event also included life-size panels of the characters and an official member (not a cosplayer) resembling Kisarazu Wakana, with whom visitors could take commemorative photos.

but

In truth, although there are female helicopter pilots, it seems due to occupational restrictions, they cannot become pilots of anti-tank helicopters.

What they're going to get is a voluptuous 17 year old girl in search of a boyfriend... in a skintight black wetsuit.
I can support this.

Also, what did the divers wear historically before the invention of wetsuits?
If the historic garb was something like the mascot, then I have no problem with it. If not it's a fair target.

The white isogi is what they used to wear (but rarely nowadays) but uh... historically, pre-wetsuits, they were topless with either a loincloth or swimming bottoms.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
I love how the go-to "flaw" for female characters is that they're "a bit clumsy." Even their flaws have to make them more adorable somehow.
This isn't an anime thing - cute clumsy girls are endearing.

Monokuma's cousin?

They specifically made her 17?

She HAS to be 17, it shows that she is not yet tied and shackled to the corporate machine that many other Japanese are chanied to, thus has an optimism about her future that has yet to be crushed by social reality. She's not ready to sleep in her cubical and go home to a small, tiny closet-sized apartment and ponder her loneliness. That's why she's seeking a boyfriend.... most of the guys she knows are reluctant to talk to her, and are beaten by the machine to the point they just can't start up or hold a conversation.

Also she's innocent and inexperienced and not embittered which means she won't hurt THE ONLY MAN WHO LOVES HER THIS STRONGLY OR WILL EVER LOVE HER THIS STRONGLY, SARAH.

...damn.

Who the hell is going to look at that and think that's a real human being? That's like saying the the Boston celtic mascot is a real white Irish basketball player.
That's not quite the point. They're upset because it gives the wrong impression, whether or not it looks like a real person. Not everyone knows what an ama diver is.
