Yeah, that's actually a good idea. I'm familiar with them, but have never really watched any. Also, hindsight has the advantage of lending those seasons actual star-power.
And the list may actually give the thread a more general impression of my taste, and could probably help me nail down some recommendations. Would be useful, as I went to the music store yesterday and was kind of clutching at what new releases to buy.
So just decided to finally buy '4 Walls' instead, as well as 'Melting'.
Hit The Stage is a bit weird. I'm wondering if some fandoms aren't committing to subs yet because the line up is supposed to change between episodes. Maybe they think it's not urgent if their fave is only going to be in one or two episodes. Hopefully they do sub it though because it's pretty fun.
I can't wait for Hyoyeon's stage, during the part where Momo was choosing her performance slot there was a clip of Hyo rehearsing to Cell Block Tango from Chicago. Give it to me now.

There is something super endearing about Pledis Girlz performing Bang on a weekly basis. I really hope that Pledis don't screw this up.

That list is fantastic. You got me with After School's Shh. SO DAMN GOOD.
As for some early recommendations, if you like electro you should try with some T-ara if you haven't given a chance yet.
As for the album comment... I agree, there are plenty of cases with filler tracks that aren't worth anyones time. Right now, before buying an album, I try to listen to it online at least once, except for groups like f(x), Wonder Girls and DalShabet, that have very consistent dicographies.
That sure is a cover of a generic summer song featuring Skull and Haha.
I like the section beginning at 2:57 where the instrumental becomes sort of muffled and distant. The rest of it's OK. Maybe it'll be a grower?
I'll need to re-listen when I'm not exhausted because heavy fatigue tends to skew my perception of new music.
Until then, both songs seem like non-events.

Both are a disappointment to me.
Even OMG couldn't save that song, and Hyuna is really not my style.
I'm like 90% sure that the rest of the mini is great though.

OMG breaking their streak with an eh summer song. I think it's a missed opportunity.
On the other hand I like Hyuna. It's obvious what it's trying to do, and it does an okay job at it. I appreciate that it's not trying too hard, but it's just right and catchy enough. Ignoring the MV, I like it.. kinda.

OMG new single is such a no event. Meh. They did have other 2 solid releases months ago, so I won't complain too much.

It's a Summer stop-gap release, and a remake at that. It was bound to be filler.
It's cute and reasonably catchy for what it is.

Considering earlier this year they promoted the superior '1 step 2 steps' as a no MV b-side, they did put expectations quite high. The remake misses that flair OMG have had in their previous promotions, maybe it'll show more in live performances.

Anyway, I have no clue who Lovelyz are but I have to say, they're killing it on this ep of Knowing Brothers. Who's the maknae with a somewhat RBF? She cute.
Lastly, I actually don't understand myself how there seems to be a lack of subbers for Korean shows when the act of translating is easy. I watch a lot of Filipino TV and since I spoke the language for the first 13 years of my life I can still fully understand everything and translate on the fly.
Maybe there's a lack of Korean expats willing to translate the shows themselves? I mean I wouldn't translate Filipino TV for free but I'd definitely do it for a small amount of money lol.
Subbing on the other hand... yeah fnck that. I edit video for a living and I wouldn't dare try to use subtitles on Premiere Pro... it's already too tedious to create lower thirds and all that mess. Doing for an hour show? Yeah, you gotta pay me good money to do that.

I appreciate posts like this. Obviously it's way more niche than Japanese stuff, so there are way less people willing/able to do it, but you'd assume that there would at least be enough of a crossover.

Great work! Also agree with most of the picks for the artists I went in for, and kind of made contrary picks just for the sheer shake of variety - but probably shouldn't have done that!
Also a nice reminder to maybe reevaluate some of my opinions on certain groups, because AOA having that many high-ranking songs?!? And here I am, refusing to give them a chance, in part due to the way they are pushed over here

The funny thing is that one of the major TV stations in the Philippines already subs all their pre-recorded shows for their international channel. Stuff like news or live shows obviously doesn't get translated on the first airing, but they've been making waves in trying to get it done.
The sad thing about k-shows is that I don't think it'll get past a fansub phase like anime did. The content is apparently too expensive to license and there really is no demand to bring it in physical form or in a TV/cable setting.
Woah, I'm actually kinda shocked that Shyshyshy didn't get 3 votes... I didn't vote for it coz I thought it was already a given lol.
Overall though, that's a pretty good list even without the better song choices that got 1 or 2 votes. I agree with llehuty, it might be a good idea to put those songs with 1/2 votes in a separate thing or have them up for voting again to go on the essentials list... there's some songs in there that are absolutely essential.

Lol I still honestly can't get into AOA. Like A Cat is the only song from them that I really like... everything else is boring.
A-Pinkeu not making it into the list is a shame but it's understandable. Their stuff is usually hidden guilty pleasures for most people haha.

Those Hyuna and Oh! My Girl tracks are truly forgettable. I've literally already forgotten how they sound, and I wish I was just being melodramatic when I say that.
I honestly found '내 얘길 들어봐' to be a little bit quirky, and for that reason, it kind of caught my interest. 'How's This?' though? Really, damn, generic. Sounds similar to the likes of 'Firetruck', in that they sound like they are a pastiche of the current Western sound, but with no real stamps of their own, losing any sort of identity as a result.
If any British posters misread this sentence, they may get excited!
