Lord British (aka Richard Garriott) seems ready to show off his next game

The only Ultima game I really played much of at all was Ultima Online, which clearly created and defined the MMO genre. Still, I was pretty excited years ago when Tabula Rasa was announced. At this point, however, I'll be excited only after I see a 90+ Metacritic score, because I don't have much faith left in Lord British.

They also expected you to translate a cryptic language that Lord British created for the game. It was actually fun at the time. But it probably wouldn't fly nowadays.

The Runic Alphabet's a real thing, although I confess I can't remember exactly which iteration Ultima made use of.

I've lost the skill now, but at one time I was at a level in Ultima 7 that I could read the runes naturally without having to refer to the reference card.
