No, it's reality. Police are full of racists and they love shooting blacks/minorities while getting away with it. Also, the "good" ones love hiding behind the blue wall. And we also know truly good ones have been openly threatened by other police officers for trying to speak out.
This should be the appropriate response. But police at large consistently fail on this.
So no. This isn't all.
Are they consistently failing or do we consistently hear about only the times they fail? That's not to say I don't think there's a problem with cops killing people, especially those of color, there is. But how these threads go isn't helping anything. It's basically confirmation bias perpetuating confirmation bias. A circle jerk of "well he's white so that explains why they didn't shoot him" thread doesn't really serve the goal of reducing excessive force in general and specifically POC.
oh no, they definitely look like they applied a choke hold that most departments frown upon, at least on paper, so they were no angels. don't think the gut punch helped either.
Choke holds are frowned upon and sometimes banned, true. But in this scenario I don't think it's anywhere near blasting a guy who's running or driving away from the officer.
Good point. Plus there's plenty of examples of this happening to black people. I just don't feel like posting any.. no one ever feels like posting any. But ther out there... believe me.
Come on man. Do you really think that in this kind of scenario a cop is thinking "oh white guy, I better be careful...oh black guy, I can light him up no problem..."
I think there's a problem with racist cops, racist policies, and a lack of whistle blowing from the good ones. I don't think that means you can jump to conclusions about each specific incident solely due to the color of the skin of the suspect like everyone is doing here.
