It's not so much that Wii Fit has passed the PS3, but rather that a piece of hardware that developers can make games for has passed the PS3. There are lots of games that have sold above <insert system with 4 million or less in sales>, but not so much peripherals that can be specifically developed for on another system. This would be like the Eye Toy outselling the GameCube.

More than it launched at. It's never had a price drop in Japan, and it had a price increase with the DSLite release. As far as actual numbers, I believe it's 16,800 Yen.

The saddest thing for the PS3 is that it can easily get worse. I would not be surprised if it dipped below 5k at one point.

Also is there any chance the Wii can catch the PSP for the best selling system in 2008.

I know the Wii is going to make some major ground during the holiday season like most Nintendo products do but can it overcome a likely lead for the PSP of over 600K.

as much as people are justifiably critical of microsoft for not moving much on the price of 360, ds has been out even longer with only a modest price adjustment in america while apparently having an increase in japan.

of course, the comparisons end there as the ds is actually selling.

Outside of a couple of weeks, there won't be an impact. If there's a surge in sales at all...

PS3 hardware bumps have been very subdued lately. Valkrie (sp?) didn't really register at all in PS3 hardware.
