They have to find ways to drive sales up. Dropping bombs is one of them.

Assumming they get third party support for it. It may end up good but I think are a bit presumptionous that it would be better for the system should it bomb intially.

Really? I can't see one for the Wii U before Q4 2013.

If things continue at their current pace, I'd expect a price cut in Q3 similar to what they've done with the 3DS before.

I don't think anything earlier would even make any sense to begin with. Judging by Nintendo's current line-up they've got absolutely nothing for the next 6 months that could actually help hardware sales. It's a catastrophe, really. Somehow they seem to have expected that NSMBU and Nintendo Land would be able to carry the hardware on their own, which just wasn't going to happen. It's crazy to think that it's been nearly two years since they have first announced the console and yet we still haven't seen more than a handful of 1rst party games.

A price-cut won't help, if you don't have software to support it.

I also hope that Nintendo has something else for the next Holidays than "Mario Kart HD"...

No games, no sales, no third party support.
Good games, sales, no third party support because first party games are too strong.
