Media Create Sales: Week 34, 2017 (Aug 21 - Aug 27)

I would imagine they're trying to give the other versions breathing room first.

Well sales are slowing down already so I guess that they are going to show it off pretty soon then? Hopefully they can release it in December where switch sales will be crazy (if they can keep up with the demand)

Unless i am mistaken, in the last years, Nintendo always had a direct before Sony's pre TGS conference, so i wouldn't be surprised if we are getting one next week.

There is no way Switch version is coming out this year. The development has just begun.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
DQ11 Switch please Square. Show it off.
I would be shocked if this is a 2017 release... Wouldn't make much sense the people will be less willing to Double Dip just a couple months after the initial release and the Switch installed base will still be sub 5m.

Golden Week 2018 or even later is much more likely. SE will want to add stuff that male the Switch version worthwhile to own even for people who played it already.

I think it usually was later in the month until Sony got those conferences.

Betting on next week too. Originally thought it would be right before PAX West, but we got a Nindies Showcase instead. There's still a couple of Fall/Winter release dates to announce, so a Direct will definitely come soon. Right before TGS has become a traditional slot like you're pointing out, so yeah, I agree. Next week seems likely.

Horii said they met some unexpected problems while planning for the Switch version, so they decided to "focus on the PS4 and 3DS versions first".

Well yes, that doesn't mean they just started after those versions were out. To meet unexpected problems you have to work on that version beforehand.

Wasn't the beginning of this thread you all saying MH should of been a launch title and that it's sales would of had no effect on other games selling on the switch? Which is it are publishers stupid for not putting all games on switch or smart for holding off knowing the userbase can only support so many titles?

dumb for not getting their piece of the pie

I still use my wiiU to browse the internet while I watch YouTube videos at the same time

I really dont get why people always shit on the hardware

Its there to play games conveniently

Google translate says it's coming out December 14th with the Not a Hero dlc and a new dlc.

There's no information on Gold Edition on the blog at all. The information on the blog says that the new story DLCs will be released on December 14 - Not a Hero (Chris DLC, free) and End of Zoe (post-RE7 DLC, 1500yen). We can assume that the Gold Edition is coming out at the same time but I see no confirmation.

You are right, it's my mistake. I jumped the gun with the machine translation.

So, the blog shared platforms for everything but SMT?

This is going to be some mobile thing, isn't it.

It's constantly being updated. There were others without platforms before.

Edit: Apparently it is mobile though.

seems dmm is planning to expand from their usual providing browser/smartphone platform and enter console side?

Sounds like a win-win in my book. Leverage Atlus's IPs in the mobile space while Atlus proper can continue to focus on their strengths. If that's the way Sega wants to handle Atlus on mobile going forward, I can't complain.

Another win-win would be letting Sega Europe port their games to PC like they do old Sega games. Hopefully they figure that out.

Also did VOEZ do really well on Switch or something? Deemo is being ported and now a mobile developer is making a rhythm game for Switch.

Yeah is it, though apparently it's a Sega developed project?
They actually announced they would be doing that back when they bought Atlus in September 2013:

The Company believes that transfer of Index's operations to SEGA will create synergies, on the grounds that the deal will enable the Company to:

(1) gain access to prominent IPs in the home video game software, through which the Company can expect to achieve steady flows of revenue;

(2) expect further facilitation of revenue growth for the PC Online Game Business and Content Business for Smart Devices operated by SEGA and SEGA Networks Co., Ltd. by exploiting acquired prominent IPs

(3) maximize the value of acquired IPs by effectively deploying them in the Pachislot and Pachinko Machines segment, Amusement Machine Sales and Amusement Center Operations segments.
Presumably the Pachislot and Pachinko Machines (item 3) are next.

DMM releasing something on Switch is unexpected... isn't that their first console project? Pretty sure they've sticked to mobile / PC so far.

And damn, Tak Fuji is involved in this Girl Metal game (though only as executive producer it seems...).

That makes sense. Putting them under Sega seems to have been mostly for Sega's benefit, since they also merged Sega of America and Atlus USA. And we know it was the Atlus side that started working on Sega localizations.

Their sample size for physical sales is huge enough that any significant discrepancies with other trackers not due to download cards are few and far between.

I was not aware that one of the trackers did not capture download cards, however, my point still stands. We can still see major discrepancies in hardware sales, but again, that doesn't mean the data is untrustworthy, they are afterall estimates. And we can only guess how the large sample size is for digital data comparative for physical sales. They could be very similar for all we know.

Meanwhile, every time we get real digital sales numbers, Famitsu's digital estimates are proven wrong. They're nowhere near as consistently reliable as their physical numbers.

We don't get many digital only numbers, let alone digital numbers from specific regions. I find it hard to believe that we have gathered enough examples to prove that they are not "consistently reliable". Can you give me examples?

Since it will likely be shown/unveiled soon.

What Tales of Games will Bamco release on Switch ? And will it be exclusive ?

First off i dont think it will be a title that already has been released this generation on PS4. I still think its Vesperia R and it will be on PS/Switch/PC.

Then again since its Nintendo...the Tales of Game/Remake could end up being exclusive, you never know with those Nintendo 3rdParty deals. Bamco has announced alot of games for PS4/PSV that arent scheduled for Switch but at the same time they are still one of the strongest Nintendo supporters and have developed/aided already on a bunch of Switch titles.

I think the Tales of title and their plans for God Eater 3 will be the first essential announcements that will show us what they expect from the system right now.

I'm also betting on a Tales of Vesperia remake/sequel for the game's 10th anniversary next year. Makes too much sense.
But would it be Japan-exclusive again like the PS3 version? Or will they remake the 360 version? I want it to happen so badly, but I feel like it's considered too much of a hazzle by Bamco unfortunately.

My money is on a port of Berseria (and maybe Zestiria as a complete tale collection or something).
