When you google translate the kanji for 10,000 units in Japanese, you get million in English.

Whoever was writing their fiscal report was insanely irresponsible haha.

I think I understand. There is no direct equivalence for -0.000 kanji in english, so I take it that they choose the easy by translating it into millions lol.

just out of curiosity...what makes you think that?
I think you need to fix your sarcasm detector. I know it kinda hard to worked it here, it's very to see a post is sarcasm, or not, or both.

Currygan

at last, for christ's sake
Nintendo should. The sw lineup is worse than last year, it will be down YoY a lot, it peaked in 2012.

not sure about that. smash will smash, then there's DQ, MH4G..

lol maybe, truth is I take SmokyDave's as sarcasm, but he's probably serious, which is even more hilarious to me

Can't wait for the PS4 to take a slice of that pie.

Problem with the Wii Fit U launch was that it was just too complicated. You had trials, upgrade packs with and without certain components and full versions, all having a staggered release? It was just a mess. Applaud them for trying new ideas but should have been all on one day.

Yeah, I'm gonna assume that there's supposed to be a decimal someplace. Otherwise there'd be more copies of God Eater 2 sold than actual PSPs and Vitas.

You're not wrong but this time last year we knew a lot more about things coming than we do now. Do we even want them to announce a bunch of 2015 vaporware?

Wait for the nintendo direct. Got a feeling Nintendo is going to announce a bunch of games.

Level 5 finally has a new hit after so many flops.
They really need to try and get the kids in the US on this too.

Vita stabilizing above 20k, now that's what I'm talking about. Shame for WiiU though, stable at 8k, at least it won't go down to 3k again. So there's some progress.

Like Glass Rebel said, every week Dave post the same thing and people will awalys fall for it.
It's like weekly tradition in Media Create Sales thread.

And pal Charts with Knack (Platformer of the year) > SM3DW

I personally find it hilarious. Dave is almost a sanctioned troll on the level of drinkycrow, and someone always bites every single time.

3D World continues to have better legs than NSMBU, which I'm somewhat surprised by considering everyone's Wii U basically now has NSMBU coming with it. Too bad there isn't anything else to buoy the Wii U... So next week we get Puyo Puyo and Dragon Quest Monsters?

Sorry to piggyback more Dragonball Online stuff into here, but that created quite a few new characters. I wonder what the ownership of them is like now post shutting down of the MMO. They could all transplant perfectly into a Make Your Own Fighter version of the MMO's Toriyama penned plot. Would be a breath of fresh air at least.

It would or maybe a DBZ RPG.

it's time to announce FFXII+ZJS HD for PS3/Vita!

It would be awesome to remake FFT/FFTA/FFTA2 using Tactics Ogre PSP engine, AND Vagrant Story using FFXII engine...pack them with FFXII+ZJS (as two games) HD all together as Ivalice HD Collection (or they can do two packs vol.1 and vol.2)

Now I'm just dreaming.

Vita will never consistently outsell the 3DS unless you mean like 420 sales vs like 50 sales a week which by that point the 3DS won't be tracked anyway.

Yeah, I'm gonna assume that there's supposed to be a decimal someplace. Otherwise there'd be more copies of God Eater 2 sold than actual PSPs and Vitas.

I'm guessing they mistranslated 10,000 (commonly used in Japanese sales reports) as million. Which would place all of those around the half million mark which sounds about right.

02./02. [3DS] Kirby Triple Deluxe <ACT> (Nintendo) {2014.01.11} (¥4.800) - 46.370 / 418.335 <80-100%> (-25%)

Very strong performance, on par with the best-selling Kirby titles. If it wasn't because it was released at the beginning of the year I would say that the million mark is a lock.

Week 4

[N64] Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (Nintendo) {2000.03.24} - 23.310 / 403.022 (LTD 882.230)
[GBA] Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land (Nintendo) {2002.10.25} - 24.026 / 314.011 (LTD 832.901)
[NDS] Kirby Squeak Squad (Nintendo) {2006.11.02} - 47.510 / 313.971 (LTD 1.121.151)
[NDS] Kirby Super Star Ultra Deluxe (Nintendo) {2008.11.06} - 43.784 / 452.148 (LTD 1.204.101)

03./00. [PS3] Diablo III <RPG> (Square Enix) {2014.01.30} (¥7.980) - 38.431 / NEW <80-100%>

[PS1] Diablo (Square EA) {1998.07.09} - 29.405 / 49.323

04./01. [PS3] Sengoku Basara 4 # <ACT> (Capcom) {2014.01.23} (¥6.990) - 33.997 / 191.323 <80-100%> (-78%)

As with every recent Musou style game, Sengoku Basara 4 is showing a sizable sales decline.

Week 2

[PS3] Sengoku Basara 3 (Capcom) {2010.07.29} - 58.974 / 268.286
[PS3] Sengoku Basara 4 (Capcom) {2014.01.23} - 33.997 / 191.323

Things are worse for the latest installment in Sengoku Basara series if we also include the Wii version.

[WII] Sengoku Basara 3 (Capcom) {2010.07.29} - 13.053 / 67.654

[WII - PS3] Sengoku Basara 3 (Capcom) {2010.07.29} - 72.027 / 335.940
[PS3] Sengoku Basara 4 (Capcom) {2014.01.23} - 33.997 / 191.323

13./10. [3DS] The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds # <ADV> (Nintendo) {2013.12.26} (¥4.800) - 9.743 / 368.638 <80-100%> (-36%)

At this point it is clear it won't have strong legs, its ceiling should be around 500.000 units, maybe slightly more. I don't think it will outsell Ocarina of Time 3D. That must be disappointing for Nintendo, the game lost all momentum after holidays, it should have been released a little bit earlier. Overall sales look better if we include its digital sales which were strong due to shortages, but now that there is enough supply I don't think they will be noticeable.

Horrible, weekly sales are already very low and there are a ton of unsold copies. Its sales performance it reminds me of the Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Professor Layton and the Legacy of Civilization A. 2013 the year where the 2 biggest Level 5 franchises completely died.

So Xbox 360 sold exact the same number as the previous week?

And poor Wii U. PSVita looks like 100% saved in JP. And the decline of 3DS is huge.

Compare it to the PSP LTD... not that many players left to sell them to in Japan. Considering the growth of the smartphone I think the 3DS is doing very well.

Glad to see Vita is getting a bit of life. Maybe some good games will start coming... maybe.

So for Wii U, the only confirmed retail release dates in Japan left are:

2/5 - Monster Hunter Frontier G (Memorial Package) - (these like never chart)
2/6 - Puyo Puyo Tetris (also releasing on 3DS, Vita, and PS3)
2/13 - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Those are the only actual dates we know?.... and I guess Mario Kart in "May" worldwide.

After Tropical Freeze releases, Nintendo better give some dates for the games they've discussed. At least for Mario Kart....

My guess would be to troll the devs. Target no hit, no extra cash, lol.
Hehe, who knows. I heard that this game was a port of a PS2 game, and if that is true, i dont know why they expected 100k (if that number is accurate that is).

Yup.

Now if we could only get it to start selling better in the US. The wider the gap in hardware between the two territories the greater the number of games I want to play that never get translated :(

#20V1T4.
So far, we have seen a decent amount of japanese Vita games getting released in the west, so maybe that trend will continue. But its hard to say.

Btw, is Freedom Wars the last 1st party game, or will there come anything else?
I think Freedom Wars is set for this summer, while Gravity Rush 2 doesnt have any release date yet. Gravity Rush is probably the latest released 1st party Vita game, but i'm sure there are more stuff in the works that isnt announced yet.

Are slowly, very slowly arriving in Kyoto, one by one. Unbelievable that they thought Wii Fit was still relevant and was going to do anything.

This. The casual/non-gaming audience have all moved onto smartphones & tablets now.

I don't know what Nintendo was thinking that another version of Wii Fit would help out sales of the Wii U.
