I'm not sure it'll be exactly like that in the real game, the demos were staged with two different builds of the game. I think they will learn if you revisit a base but might be different for starting the first mission or a new game+.

I'd guess it'd be more like PW/GZ where you select one of multiple missions in the same location, but here repeating missions would make the guards adapt to your previous attempts. It wouldn't be too hard to implement, would it? It could set parameters based on your previous run's stats.

Today I played some PW coop and did this base defending mission. I went in with my trusty MK 22 as always, hoping for a good rank. This asshole came in with a silenced pistol and a shield (why?) and shot everyone. I didn't even notice at first, but then I saw him headshotting the guys I took down. Asswipe.

hm on second thoughts PO didn't have mission rankings. But the permadeath thing confuses me, couldn't you go and get a dead buddy a second time by replaying that mission again?

maybe it'll just make the buddy never available for deployment again, but still alive in story? tho i never liked permadeath in games, hope kojima allows you to turn it off...

I played the first Metal Gear Solid on PS1 when it first came out and haven't played it since. What's the best way to replay it, if I no longer have a PS1 or the discs? I've considered emulation or buying it on PSN... I'm concerned emulators will have a hard time with some of the more unique parts like psycho mantis, etc.

What crazy new features or mechanics is Kojima introducing that could cause him to feel that way? I know Troy still feels confident and excited, but the way he said that makes me feel like there is something huge we don't know, or it's maybe not exactly what we are expecting.

Just gets me more anxious for the game in the end really.

If i had to guess i'd say the heavy taboo themes Kojima is going for with MGSV. Kojima even said he might have to leave the industry after this game.

I think the ending of GZ and the tapes is NOTHING compared to what we'll see in TPP.
