Which part?
Megaton
Which part?
If this was a downclock of 50, this whole thread would be exploding.
DF became biased when the posted positive X1 news, now Im guessing GI are too?
Today is payday I have no idea why he insists on working off the clock.Even with X1 gets any sort of positive news you always make it a negative one.
I've seen more than one post like this. A GPU upclock has NOTHING TO DO WITH A PHYSICAL HARDWARE CHANGE. So many people here making statements without even understanding this stuff.
I can push my GPU in my PC up and down in clockspeed at any time. Microsoft and Sony could both do this at will if they wanted to, ON THE FINISHED HARDWARE. It's just a matter of safe heat levels.
Even with X1 gets any sort of positive news you always make it a negative one.
Only on neogaf do people bitch about free games and spec upgrades. Keep on surprising me guys!
Lol
It's still an underwhelming machine for the asking price.
My impression is that this is a decent but not massive upgrade that Digital Foundry will portray as a MEGATON.
Negative? I'm stating a fact, they never released their spec, so how is this an upgrade?
All this is, is an announcement of their clock speed for the first time. They call it an "upgrade" because that sounds better in PR.
It's actually been really good news for us, and an example of that is we've tweaked up the clock speed on our GPU from 800mhz to 853mhz
I did 1.84 and 1.32 but it's 1.31.
1.3 to 1.8 is 38%
1.31 to 1.84 is 40%

It's always the same few guys that enter these threads and let it be known that they have no interest in x1 and that it sucks. It's like that they need to constantly reassure themselves that they're backing the right guy. Sad lol
because Whitten said
thats an upgrade from their initial plans
So the Xbox One is going to be even more powerful and have more available ram than the ps4.
Not looking good for sony at all.
That's like saying a Caterpillar engine has more HP than a Lamborghini engine. It may be the truth, but it really doesn't mean much. The PS4 is going to have at least 5GB of much faster RAM than the Xbox One has.
So Microsoft has finally drawn the line. Something concrete (clocks) from them finally.
You don't understand how it works either apparently. Hardware doesn't change with clock speed changes.
Waaaaah, good X1 news!Shhh... Don't point out mistakes from Microsoft's part. All our criticisms are supposed to be irrational.
WHY should we care that 53mhz tiny boost when you have Infinite Power of Cloud(tm)?
But it's exploding now with news of an upclock.
DF deserves shit lately with their BS articles.DF became biased when the posted positive X1 news, now Im guessing GI are too?
This is not an upgrade.

Why announce this publicly? Microsoft is so weird these days. This is a good thing though
53mhz and driver optimization?!?!
Pre-order switched!
/MS fantasy
What makes you think that?
Nobody is spinning this into a bad thing. People are spinning this into a "not good enough" thing. People want at least spec parity for $400 and the only thing the $100 price difference getting you is the camera. I don't see that happening though.
So Microsoft has finally drawn the line. Something concrete (clocks) from them finally.
Xbone GPU right now is 1.31 TFlops or 40.6% slower than the PS4.
I'm happy to get some concrete news as well as happy for the Xboners.
Announcing this seems weird since their old strategy seemed to dodge saying any real numbers.
Yeah, raise hell with bad news and spin any sort of positive news. With good reason.
I don't need to reassure myself of anything, I'm stating the facts clear so that things aren't misinterpreted by people (like you).
This is not an upgrade.
Microsoft says a whole lot of shit; fact is, they never announced their clock speed publicly, this is the first time. It's like saying "Hey, we had a GPU, at 0MHZ and we made it 800!".
That's the point. On PC you buy a GPU and it won't be anywhere near it's max clock speed unless stated otherwise, so you can ramp it up should you choose to take the risk. Consoles are closed boxes, you would think they have the numbers/heat/etc on lock by now.
Maybe because they thought the number could change, as it just did?
Don't bother. Simple logic seems to go over his head. Why to you need to announce a clock speed before announcing an upgrade?
He says, they tweaked from 800 to 853 - that totally fits the definition of an announcement of an upgrade.
Exploding with a lot of people trying to throw cold water on the value of it.
