Checked out some of the Japanese bookstores while in town (went for Miyavi concert - so good!) and stumbled on the Möbius first year anniversary art book. It's so gorgeous, seeing the little details you can't see on the art in game is cool, and there's a ton of original stuff too.

What's the best way to farm crystals. Plesiades Sunday?

I ask because I pulled a crapload of jobs lately since coming back to the game(Had a lot of Summon Tickets saved up before I quit the game, so I did 10+ pulls. Managed to get what I wanted with Occultist and Rogue) and my Crystal stash is now depleted.

Sort of.. the actual best way is to buy a Pleiades Pass on a Mobius Day and drink elixirs until you pass out.

Since the stamina to crystal ratio is roughly equal, you can auto the forty stamina node so you don't have to pay much attention.

What's a Pleiades Pass? I've been autoing the 60 stam nodes because I assumed they'd have the highest crystal drop rate (like the Pneumas), but if the 40 stam one is more efficient, so be it.

It's a 500 magicite item in the Item Shop, opens up all Pleiades areas for twenty-four hours and gives five elixirs.

If you can auto the sixty stamina node, keep at it, you'll get guaranteed 4★ fractals.

The areas are supposedly about 1:1 in terms to stamina to crystals, so there's really no "more efficient" one.

Hmm thanks. I should really check the Magicite Shop.

I'm actually overflowing with Fractals, my bank is like 60% of them. Their only use is to fuse extra skills into cards yeah?

Yeah, start fusing them onto your favorite cards, very useful.

Interesting note, based on my last crystal farming experience, 3★ fractals seem to give Skillseed, Gil and Experience bonuses a lot. If for some reason you are after any of those, try hanging out in the forty stamina node a bit.

Yeah been desperately trying to get JCR and Heal Draw on my healer cards but RNG isn't having any of it.

Life draw +1 really isn't going to add anything noticeable. There are much better fractal skills, even for support cards. JCR is awesome of course.

According to Reddit, each point of Life Draw gives you an additional 0.05% chance to draw a life orb on an attack (from a base of 6.25%). Seems like it would be better to go for prismatic draw for fractals, since 1% prismatic draw is going to make more of a difference in comparsion to +1 Life Draw.

I decided to slap Shiva 4* on Mobius day because 3 of the FFRK cards (some of my favourite cards in this game) use the 5* Water Jewels. Finally got 4WoL/T&J/V&F and Tyro at 5* max level.

Aerith and Tifa remains at 3*...

Thankfully the support cards don't take too many scrolls to level up, but it is kind of a bummer that Tyro goes away before we can actually augment A&T.

I've been running 4★ Shiva like a madman today for 3★ Skill Coins.

I also maxed out my Tyro and Vanille cards and have banked enough scrolls for Aerith. My Tidus is still at 3★, I could bank scrolls for it, but not sure if I'll ever want to use Growstars on it.

Update out.

So I was reading this particular part:

Does that mean jobs from now on are going to get super expensive in terms of Summon Ticket useage? Should I just burn them all on Job Summon now?

Yeah if you want jobs get them now because it's gonna be hell later.

Even though it's still no dupes you'll be spending more just to get one job.

You have to do at least 8 greater summon pulls to be guaranteed a job card.

Only had one left in the can (Viking) so I grabbed that today. Hopefully we get more tickets and can summon cards more often this new way. At least there still won't be dupes, and less chance of getting a complete dud GAS.

They really should have made the model more like Japan's where a job is guaranteed when doing a 6-pull, but random chance for the other pulls. Especially since our Ability Shop system makes pulling from the current gacha kind of pointless.

I'm glad I entered this thread today, because I totally missed the patch notes in-game. Guess I'll spend all of my Summoning Tickets right now.

Yea, same here. Change kinda stinks I guess, but I can imagine it didn't make much money for them using the current global method. I only play super casually, but I've pretty much used the same 10 or so ability cards since launch, so they're probably targeting players like me by getting rid of job summons.

Whelp. Thanks Squeenix.

At least I have what I want for the most part (have Rogue, Occultist and Devout and I got really luck when I came back and did 1 GAS and got S1C), but with these changes, there's no point holding back tickets for jobs.

EDIT: Whaaaat. "You can only use this Summon a limited number of times"? There's a daily cooldown on this thing?

I think there was a beneficial bug with the new summon right as it switched over that I missed out on. I went to it right after 10:00 PM and it had the "Guaranteed New Card!" text. I checked Reddit to see if anybody tried it, but didn't see any messages (it was like, a minute fresh) and I was already on the way to sleep so I just konked out. Sure enough, first thing in the morning it now read "8x for a New Card."

I have enough tickets that I could've emptied out the regular job pull and tried it but was hesitant (not even sure what I'm saving tickets for, to be honest).

Anyway, I don't mind the change so much, but they REAAALLY need to alter the Greater Ability Summon even just a little bit, it's such a massive waste of resources if you've been playing for a while.

Warrior is one of the worst classes in the game; not for being bad, rather Mobius' job design tends to scew more towards specialization rather than generalization. Defensive stats are relatively good but it's still below Paladin and Knight. Attack is good, but is outclassed by Samurai and Dark Knight. Magic is pretty bad though and the Ultimate is awful (Brave is one of the last buffs you're going to want from an Ultimate). Guillotine Blade is really good if you want to use Dragoon a bunch in Multiplayer (though be prepared to spend a long time for modification).

Fair enough. My DK was my very first job when the game came out and I feel like he's a decent enough T&J spammer. I have DK/Knight maxed out as my Warriors, guess I should look towards Viking/Paladin as my 3rd?

Although nowadays, I just use Rogue/Occultist. They seem to be good at everything, ignoring the rule of specialisation.

Speaking of Modifications, do they go on forever? I have no idea how many crystals/seeds I've poured into my Masamune/Truescale Staff, but it seems neverending.

Pretty much, yeah. The big thing is to get all 4 extra skills on a weapon. After that it's just slightly increasing stats and the occasional def/crit/speed star. Been doing my Truescale since the day boosting came out and still no prismatic starter.

All modifications increase a stat by one, so some abilities don't take a long to time to max out (Ultimate Charger maxes out at 3) while others like Piercing Break take a really long time (100 for the max). For this reason, the Truescale Staff is one of the hardest weapons to max out for the abilities. Looking at the Soulrender, which has the same abilities, it takes more than 100 modifications.

Ah cool. So weapons do eventually max out but realistically it's only for the whales.

I should drop Truescale as my staff then? I usually use Astral Wand because I value Prismatic's quite highly (and I run Healer in MP). Seems like a waste because I've poured so much time into it already...

I'm considering using my magicite for weapon boosting until there are some changes to the summon system. 3000 magicite is about twenty days of boosting, which is nice. The only trade-off would be not buying Growstar packs, which I think I'm kind of close to being okay with the three or so a month freebies at this point anyway.

The stars have aligned. Mobius Day is upon us and I got a Growstar for completing login bonuses...which I can use to finally Augument A&T to 4*...

..of which I've farmed all the necessary mats to max 5* along with T&J.

All FFRK cards maxed! I...so happy...

Is Rising Sun regarded as the general best Rogue weapon? Or should I just stick with Dominon Axe?

It's definitely up there, the Dancer's Butterfly Edge is pretty good.

The only thing topping them is the Zorlin Shape that comes from Zidane's job.

For MP especially you'd want Rising Sun or Butterfly Edge (Dancer 1st) since they have skills that help you break much much faster. Rising Sun also has ult charger which is awesome, though you do have to unlock the piercing break on it.

Butterfly Edge and Rising Sun both have Piercing Break, THE breaker skill.

Butterfly Edge is better NOW, but Rising Sun is (arguably?) better fully modded.

Another option is Ozryel, it has Exploit Weakness which really ramps up breaking with en-element boosts.

Maxed out mage anima and ifrit sic, leviathan, titan, exdeath (not neo exdeath sadly), and almost warrior hashmal sic today! And 6-7 million of all seed types for feeding into weapons, plus a boatload of extra skills... pretty much everything I have worth using is maxed out now. Can't wait for Ultima the High Seraph and Odin ability scrolls in the mp shop coming up! Pretty awesome mobius day for me though, just auto-ing through stuff all day at work.

Ranger weapons

Cool, thanks for the input everyone. I think I'll stick it out with Rising Sun for a bit and see if I can get Piercing Break after a few mods. For the moment I'll just use Dominion Axe as my go to (since I love using A&T + Tyro and Prismatic Draw helps spam them).

I think I have a good set of Breaker/Damage/Healer cards. Just need to get a good set of Tank cards and maybe I can just AI battle 4* Sicarus in the near future.

Although I see most tanks in MP carry Dark Moogle and Gladio, cards that are otherwise unavailable now?
