Mortal Kombat 1 - Thanksgiving Fatality (PURE CRINGE)

Here you go, watch it here.....don't give the pieces of shit at WB a nickel to tell them charging for fatalities is ok. If people don't stand up to this nonsense now that they're doing, MK as we knew it in the past will be dead and gone.

This one is actually disgusting in a not good, and not funny way IMO

All they need is like 100 sales to justify to keep doing it. That isn’t hard to hit.

They’ll just make it worse in the next title.

I’m not into gloom and doom posting but MK1 was one of the only regret purchases of the year I have.

I don’t see myself buying one ever again, and this stuff with paid fatality isn’t even the main reason— more like more justification to not do so.

I am good with MK9 being BC on Xbox, as far as I am concerned.
I got Mortal Kombat Extra Large for $5 on sale like a month ago. I'm good. This series can rot.

Shadow of War is always on sale for like $5 too.

Gotham Knights is like $20 already and on both subs.

Never buy a WB game until a few years have passed. They usually come out with complete editions too.

I think it’s pretty amusing. The problem is this not being a free Happy Thanksgiving download, which would’ve earned some goodwill.

If people allow this, then it’s only a matter of time before the cool fatalities are locked behind “character fatality packs”.

Edit: I also agree with the poster above. I pick up MK games when it’s the Ultimate edition - and not until that’s like $10-$20. The new game will plummet in price just like all the others.

Crazy how they went from everyone praising this entry to getting greedy charging for fatalities. I'm used to buying battlepass and the occasional skins and that doesn't bother me but charging for a stand alone fatality is just dumb.

I have no issues with them charging for shit like this, if the default game is good and has its own unlockable items that are worthwhile. I won't buy it, but it will make someone happy.

I have said many times, the tone of modern MK games is very childish. You would think a game with such violence should be for adults but it's the kind of violence 12 year old boys imagine in their heads so they can laugh. I remember drawing such silly violent scenarios when i was at that age.

If you also add the silly overdecorated outfits that look like a cosplay show and the even more silly "story", i think i'm convinced that this game is made for young teens.

I really wish this shit would stop. The thing that sucks is whales are going to continue to buy, buy, buy. So it's not going to, it really is a shame. We're just going to see more and more volatile monetization.

MK9 was definitely the peak for me, and I wish it would just go back to that. But I guess we're just so far gone from that. The drop off feels worse than it did the last two games, and I feel like there are even more things in MK1 (since launch) that need attention but they're just constantly getting overlooked. Crossplay doesn't even exist yet, lmao.

why so serious GIF

It's just over the top ridiculousness.

I enjoyed old Mortal Kombat games; old fatalities, brutalities and even babalities were cool. However, in recent years, it seems like the game is heavily marketed based on these ridicilous fatalities. It almost feels like violence pornography at this point.

I mean, the gore was always Mortal Kombat's "thing", so it'd only make sense for them to attempt to go bigger as each iteration comes out IMO.

The violence still doesn't bother me personally, as it's just a video game. But, they don't woo or wow me like they used to. Be it my age, or just that it's gotten old at this point, lol.

I miss the days when DLC was a thirst trap to sell bikini outfits for the Dead or Alive babes. Now the DLC is for a cringey hyper grotesque Thanksgiving dinner fatality, because that is somehow less offensive than sexy outfits for attractive women.

Oh and MK11 Ultimate with all 1000 pieces of DLC can be had now for $20. There is zero reason to ever buy a fighting game within a year of launch anymore, except for Smash.

God I LOVE gaming today! It is SO much better than it was when I was growing up playing games on my NES/SNES/N64/Gamecube/PS1/PS2/Mega Drive/Saturn/Dreamcast/Xbox... gome are the days when a game was released and complete. Now we get to purchase horse armour and fatalities and the like AFTER we have paid full price for the game!!! Yay for progression in gaming!

Modern MK games?

As someone who was around 12 years old when MK originally came to prominence.... Dude, it's always been that way. It's always been juvenile cartoonish violence. Not that there's anything wrong with that, btw. I think it's great.

always loved mortal kombat, even during the ps2 era when it kind of lost its way and people stopped caring about it, but they always felt like games for fans. MK9 is the best in the series for me and the last game that feels like a true MK. After 11 and all the mobile game mechanics and mtx you could see where they were going with it, WB has destroyed this series for me, what a shame.

I'm def getting old.

I find the graphic violence so disturbing. Not fun at all to watch. It's gotten way too gory and realistic. The gurgles, the sounds, the pained looks, I hate it.
I always wonder about the people who have to animate and render this stuff.

Hahaha wtf they sell Fatalities now? I don’t know what’s worse, this, or the fact that there’s a market for this (especially in fighting games)

I was expecting someone to make a thread about them censoring a classic outfit in an M rated game

New Li Mei is an actual character now. With depth, layers, and great voice acting.

But most importantly her toes are out. Which better than TnA.

Nah, modern MK games try harder. From the old ones i'd say only MK3 was at a similar level. But at least it didn't have a cringe story mode.

I enjoy gore but man this way too gross for my taste. This basically later Saw movies have become, less clever and more about torture porn.
