MSNBC invited the head of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People on Saturday to discuss charges of racism against Donald Trumps presidential campaign.
And showed him a fried-chicken commercial.
In the segment, liberal-network host Alex Witt cued up Cornell William Brooks for a clip of Hillary Clinton speech last week on Mr. Trump and the so-called alt-right.
But what played, according to clips posted on Mediate and elsewhere, was a commercial for KFC in which a dark-toned George Hamilton plays the Extra Crispy Colonel tanning his flesh on the beach.
The clip from the commercial for KFCs $5 fill-ups continued for a little less than 10 seconds before going back to the remote shot of the host and guest.
Absolutely not what we were gonna play, Ms. Witt said before launching into a 20-second soliloquy about Mr. Trump and the racist alt-right.
