Just downloaded the game, PS+.
I don't know what I'm doing, but holy shit am I having a blast!
Already found some new songs that I like!
Stil at 24% copying game status so no sounds, but man....I like it!
As of my knowledge of cars - they have four wheels, I am the same total noob in anything basketball related but it's FUN!

I got baseball and football positions down but my buddies at work are asking me if I want to be a center or forward or something else and I have no idea what those positions mean.
Man I see substitutions, see the stats screen, see all the data, see all the numbers and I don't have a clue!
I hope there is some sort of tutorial to get me up to speed. I am havinf some buttons under my fingers now but to know what is foul and what is not, that is something totaly different.
Audio-visualy this game's a bomb.

Hope GAF can help me on this. Any tips on getting good face scans? Shit is impossible now (I can't even get to 100%), way harder than in NBA 2K15.

It's real finicky. You need some damn amazing "natural" lighting. Best to do it during the day with some sunlight. Also, depending on your skin color, a good background. Wallpapers will screw you up. Need like a white or brown background lol.
Put the camera on a flat surface, at eye level. I put my entire face in the box, brows about 1 inch from the top, chin about half an inch from the bottom. Look straight into the camera and then move my head slowly, very slowly, until the camera is basically looking at your ear. Keep your eyes straight, don't look onto the screen because that'll make you lose your "level". And then I bring my face back facing the camera, slowly, and do it the other way.
I usually get great scans this way. Scanning one side should definitely get you to 57% and it'll fill up pretty fast because of how slow you're going.

I'm going to have to look into the stat limits. Would like to make a SF but if the speed isn't to my liking then will have to make a guard. Really just want to shoot 3s and put people on posters lol.

2K17 is looking like a definite pickup day -4 this year. Holy shit, I'm loving everything I'm hearing and now that we can create our characters already from that calculator this is fucking badass. You have set badges and shit, no more grinding shit out. I'm so happy.....so, so happy

One dude that got the game early is saying that slasher moving shot are really good but their standing shot is garbage. Or was that shot creator?
And from the looks of it, I think he was saying slashers are the fastest builds.
slasher and playmaker are the fastest capped at the max of 25
shot creator is 21.....they aren't that slow.
Shot Creator has a difficult shots badge, I have a feeling they can take and make shots anywhere on the floor, Sharpshooter has catch and shoot. Which would mean they are the bad moving shooters.

Here is slasher
Slasher is a solid finisher and uber fast. However Shot Creator I think will be the most popular as it allows for ISO play 100% and still allows dishing, driving and everything else, plus they are still really fast.
I mean a 25 in shooting off the dribble means they are beasts at 1v1 on the floor
Is ball handling tied in with Agility? I can only believe it would be.........there is literally no stat, unless its under play making.
More I think about it.....shot creator....is literally JR Smith lol....dude can't make a simple open shot but hits every damn fadeaway 3

I honestly don't know what to build. I'm leaning towards slasher, but I love spotting up for 3s. I might just make a 6'8 Point Forward. The stats on there look like I can work with them. I just want to be able to make an open 3 confidently and put a couple of people on some posters man. I like passing anyway lol.

heres the thing.......with a shot meter added to layup, how much of a difference will it make this year.....I mean we bricked open layups in 2k16 maxed out. If you can hit that line every time on the layup or get near it, I'd say your chances are still pretty high making it even with that drop from slasher to shot creator.
But spot shooter for PF removes the ability to even dunk basically lol, slasher doesn't even look like your going to be able to hit that open 3 confidently. I think 12 or 13 would be the confident mark as its basically 50%. You might be better off making a 6'8 SF and doing shot creator.

Yes, just realized I mostly call them SF's now a days as there are not to many good Forwards who are terrible at passing at that position. Carmelo, Lebron, KD, PG, Hayward, Draymond.....etc.

Also last night I discovered why 2k suddenly has more areas you can upgrades. At first I was happy that you can be more specific, but then I realized that means it'll take more VC to get him. Last year it was between 160-175 to max out day one with the animations. Now it'll top 250k

Made a whole free account with one of my throwaway emails lol.
Game hasn't fully installed yet but it feels different. I just went for a steal and my defender kind of bodied the ball handler and dove for the ball on the ground. It was kinda awesome, it was like one of those hustle steals.
I don't quite understand the shot stick boosts yet. But since there aren't any options for feedback yet, I'm sticking with the button. Crazy to think that I was once exclusively shot stick then moved to button, and now I have to move back to pro stick. It just feels awkward relearning it again.
Lay up timing doesn't feel natural yet. It's weird. Don't really notice any difference.
CPU is still the God of pass interceptions so that is still in the game lmao.
Dribbling will have to take some time to get used to. It's a huge change.

6'8 Point Forward SF with slightly upgraded wingspan and rail thin at 210lbs. Lol, I'm going to need badge details because passing badges suck for park play.
I'm going to go ahead and say people are going to need multiple players for different modes.
Couldn't get the face scan to work. They also removed the ps4 camera integration from the face scan. Don't get why we couldn't have both but ok.

Well that was dumb. Can't really dig into the stats. Well, my player doesn't seem slow. I think I'll roll with a point forward.
I like the offball movements.
Edit: ahh now I'm thinking shot creator sf. I need to see the speed stat. Better badges, just a hit on playmaking which is passing.

I don't think you'll need to redl. My main account just has a lock. Ps4 doesn't have region lock anyway.

I like where he's headed but I kind of wish his 3 pt rating could be higher than 72. he'll be really fast and pass really well, decent everywhere else, but I need that 3pt rating up. Maybe I'll make him more gator armed...

Yeah there's really no point in releasing the prelude a week early. You can't really do much. And I feel like it's not even the full college story. I mean, there's definitely some gaps that are skipped in what is shown. A bit of a waste of time if I say so.
But yeah, I think shot creator is going to be the most used build.

6'3 shot creator or playmaker PG. One has better shooting stats and the other has better passing but overall pretty balanced builds compared to the others. Shot creator would probably be more fun if you're not all into ball distribution lol. I recommend PG because the ball will be in your hands more than the other positions.

Hope it's ok bumping the thread but I have a question about 2K16.
During myCareer mode, when my SG had the ball I'd tap L1 to bring up player icons to all for a pick. So let's say I hit triangle to call for my man, Chris Bosh, he'd come towards me and set the pick. Happy days.
However, recently this is no longer working. I tap L1, then tap triangle but instead of the Bosh-man coming to me to set a pick, a new play menu now appears.
What's happened to the game to change like this? I can't call specific players for a pick anymore. Can anyone help?
Edit: so it appears it might be related to getting the "On Court Coach" badge. I hope there's a way to turn this off.
