(I also generally don't consider FF zoom lenses to be suitable for crop system because of useful focal range and you are carrying extra weight for no reason.) If their current lens line up is okay with you then it's probably okay.

I suppose it depends on whether or not the added bulk of the X100T, viewfinder, and 35mm are priorities over a slightly smaller 28 mm pancake with no viewfinder.
That's definitely oversimplifying it though.
x100t. The viewfinder on the x100 series is a main selling point. If budget isn't a concern then go for the better model. The main bonus to the x70 seems to be the touch screen and 28mm focal length. Not enough of a difference to matter in my opinion. If you want to get that focal length on the x100 series, they make astounding adapters to reach 28mm or 50mm.

My X-T1 and 23 f/1.4 showed up on Monday. I went ahead and used it as an excuse to purchase a new 300mbps SD card.
Just flew into Rochester, NY yesterday - it's beautiful outside with the snow. Going to try to snap some frozen night shots of Niagara Falls this evening. That 1.4 should work great. Was dicking around last night at the rooftop bar getting sushi with some friends, and the colors are just as extravagant as I hoped - just gorgeous chandelier light bouncing off the colored glass bottles makes for beautiful bokeh.
Unfortunately, couldn't find either my Domke or Ona bags, and didn't want to use a backpack - so I've crammed the camera in the oldest, most torn-up Crumpler bag you've ever seen.

X100T is trending for $850-900 used. Some of the recent sold listings on eBay even included one of the teleconverters at that price The viewfinder's amazing, the lens is faster and more versatile and it has the TCs available to convert it to 28 or 50 equiv. It's a proven, extremely refined design with a beautiful lens.

Early impressions are really great. I'm familiar with Fuji's beautiful color and gorgeous .JPEG output; but this sharpness is really something else.
The 56 will probably be the first lens I buy when I have kids.

Got my Sigma 2.8 17-50, it's a sexy looking lens, can't wait to use it in the real world.

Cheapest ive seen is £319 at cameraworld.co.uk if youre after UK stock.
Photospecialist have it at £300 but are currently out of stock and import from holland I think. This would still fall under the European warranty though.
If you want to take more of a gamble theres plenty of chinese importers, but these wont have any warranty/support from Sony. They tend to be around £250 from places like e infinity.

I should be working, but here are some very quick grabs from my X-T1 and 23 1.4. Mirrorless AF is a totally different beast than what I'm used to, and all my shots would do better once I get a hold on the quirks of the focusing system. It's tricky, because while 1.4 can see in the dark, it's easy to forget it still has to seek like a bitch.
Probably could have stopped down inside, and bumped up the ISO instead and avoided razor thin focus plane and blur. Still wouldn't fix my iffy focus points.
Overall, though, for night one out? I'm happy. Spent about 30 seconds in LR for each:

I was - I get tact sharp in daylight - but it was late in the night with those, and I wanted to play with the owl eyes of 1.4. Think I should be getting sharper there, too?

Even though Flickr compresses images, the non-portrait images you have there should be sharper IMO. What shutter speed were you shooting at?

Just an example of its absurdity - It needs a class 10 UHS-3 SD card for 4k 100Mb video. OK have a ton. But no. It says your card is incompatible, unless it is also 64GB or bigger. Of course it doesn't actually tell you this you have to read the footnotes in the user manual.

I love my E-M1, but a PEN with built-in viewfinder is something I always wanted since the E-P2. The VF-4 is brilliant, but it looks ridiculous on the beautiful bodies imo.
If the European price isn't absurd, I'm really tempted. But the missus will roll her eyes, that's for sure...

Is it just the form factor you prefer over the EM-1? I use an E-PL5 and it is kind of a monstrosity with the VF-2 attached.

That's what I mean! The E-M1 is a pleasure to shoot with, but with the battery grip, the size is in DSLR territory. All the PENs are beautiful in their retro appeal, but the lack of a built-in viewfinder is a pity and the external ones are simply ugly as sin and you lose the compactness. I used to shoot a lot with the E-P5 but most of the time the VF-4 stayed in my bag.
So the concept of a PEN-F sounds perfect to me. The problem seems to be the estimated price. If it is really a luxury tax PEN, I might pass.

The consensus seems to point to the 50mm but Sigmas have notoriously awful build quality variation between models so I've definitely seen examples of the 35 beating it out.

I'm wondering if he was using the same lens across both. The a7s's ISO performance certainly is stellar, but I wanna see the receipts on aperture and ss.
Because, as I've found out, noise is not entirely dependant on ISO, but also just how much light you're getting. A brighter scene with the same ISO will have less noise than a darker one.
